While the Abandoned Mine isn't as large as the Illburns Ruins and Zone of Lava combined, it's very front heavy as an unusual mural speaks up and provides information on the legend behind the four Statues and how they act as the seal for a creature that previously tried to destroy Felghana.

Reading that also gives us a double jump ability and allows us to delve deeper all the way to the very bottom to find the strange crystal that Dewey mentioned. Turns out to of course be a monster and begs the question, "Should I have grinded out one more level before taking this thing on?"
