For Abyss of Vinsaga, the strongest point is its story. With a story that has been over a decade in development (yes, you heard right), you can expect at least some polish. Although you can only catch a small glimpse of the overall story from this short first chapter, it is enough to drag you in. I cannot wait to experience the entire story, regardless of the medium chosen.

Good news. Despite the arrival of RPG Makers 2 and 3, game designers of the first RPG Maker are still hard at work at producing quality games for that medium. One maker that has not forsaken this old maker is Jerbils, creator of the game Crazy Skating.

The game's creator, Draygone, made a pretty good introduction, which I'll follow up with notes of my own:

Yes, this is the same "Nano Bot" made by the talented Dave Carter that one the RPG Maker Pavilion contest. Saying that, I knew it had to be good. One, it's made by Dave carter, very well known for his awesome games. Two, It uses an improved version of Dave's platformer engine for RPGM, and three, its passed Valkysas' test and came out victorious in the Final RPGM Contest at the RPG Maker Pavilion. I couldn't wait to try out Nano Bot.
Crazy Skating is an innovative and fun game for RPG Maker. This game proves that with the right amount of imagination, a game maker can create any type of game. Of course, with the limitations of RPG Maker (especially in graphics) this game is nowhere in the league of the legendary Skate Boarding games that have blessed the Playstation and Playstation 2 consoles. In fact, the custom sprites are mediocre but they do look like what they're supposed to be for the most part. Still, you don't play an RPG Maker game for graphics so let's get down to the gameplay.

This game is fun; let me emphasize that for all you game creators that think it's enjoyable to make game after game that involve the generic story of rescuing damsels in distress, fighting monsters and solving mundane puzzles. Fun! Make the game fun! And Jerbils has certainly done that with this one. The controls are simple and the tricks are funny to watch. Especially when you get to knock people in holes, toss boulders on top of mugger's heads and start raging infernos.

But, this game is not perfect. So, without further ado, let me get into the scoring for this delightful chapter in RPG Maker history.

Never before has this type of game been attempted, let alone finished for RPG Maker. But I believe the creator wanted to leave his mark with an innovative title that people will remember him by. Crazy Skating is that mark.

I originally played it way back when it first came out but I never got farther then the third card. I just put the game down and moved on to other things. This time I vowed to play the game from beginning to end. It's always important to play other's games so you get a deeper understanding of what has been done, and how each games comes together.

Yes, it is I, DuelExpert with my second review. But this time it's a review of another person's game. The most hyped up review has finally arrived.

"10,000 years ago, the evil entity known as Creolder came to power in the parallel worlds of Exia and Revenia. Only one man stood against him, and after months of searching, acquired the one weapon capable of beating Creolder, the legendary Zone Blade. After a lengthy battle, the man used the Zone Blade's power to exile Creolder into the silent zone, the Relchum Abyss.

It's nice to play a game that's a breakaway from traditional RPG's. With this puzzle horror game you get just that. The genre inspired me to play, the graphics left me in awe, and the puzzles destroyed my sanity.

Sat down and played this game over two days. It was a big enough success that I played it right till the end. Having the battles balanced was a major step in this, though I am very tired of RPG Maker battles. The plot was even fun to which helped a lot! I knew that this was one of the early games and was very well done.

Lets face it, most of the RPGs on the market have much in common. Too much. They all seem to want to tell the same old story of the hero who finds love and saves the world. All the while, sightseeing his own world where only a hundred people exist and it takes 5 minutes to cross the globe in a plane that never runs out of gas. Sound familiar? Well, it does to me too. And to the creator of Untraditional!, as evident by this game.

Patrick's Journey, the RPG made by Monkey Brothers' creator Hedrum, is a traditional RPG with a not-so-traditional story. It is a first attempt at a full game, and it shows. However, much promise and fun is found in this game.

Oh my, so Omni is officially a pervert. One play through and you'll loose all innocence.

The game itself is based largely on an anime called Devil Hunter Monoko. I've never seen the anime myself but in my experience I can see that what Omni's produced is most likely close to the what the plot would be like (devil slaying, sex talk, and all that teen girl Asian anime crap).

Sushi Samurai GO!! is the telling of a quite strange tale of two people named Sushi and Pudding who quest to stop Evil Legolas and his master, Maester Biff from taking over the world. Or should I say crazy tale? If you thought Alice in Wonderland was trippy, then let me tell you that you've seen nothin' yet.

Hi everyone.

Ixion asked me if I wanted to do a review for him, so..here I am! Since I got to pick which game I review here, I decided to go with Xisthruous' The Spiteful Dead. Many of you may have not seen Xisthruos around..or even heard of him. Well regardless of how well-known he is or not, he has made a great game.

While sifting through the pile of RPGMaker games submitted to the various RPGMaker sites, one always stood out. That game is Forever Darkness, a game that was given a high status with only a one word description: FUN. So, is it? Is Forever Darkness the very essence of this word?
