Issue 2.3 Cover Story: RPG Maker 3 Strategy Guide Sneak Peek!
RPG Maker 3 Strategy Guide Sneak Peek

After seeing the constant demand to see a strategy guide made for RPG Maker 3, RPGMM has decided to take it upon themselves to start a project and fulfill that demand!

However, it's going to take us and a few extra people to make this project a reality, so judging by the responses to the idea, we will make the decision to carry out the rest of the guide.

The demonstration is part of the "Making Of" the RPG Maker 3 demo, WereKing.
The (Glimpse of the) Making of WereKing

The first demo made using RPG Maker 3, WereKing has the be the crappiest demo ever made.

However, this short glimpse will display a decent variety of options and show what's to come in the full version of the strategy guide (which will be in .pdf form!).

Please keep in mind that this sneak peek is very much a beta and nowhere near the quality of the real deal.
The World
Fields
Script Commands used in relation with Fields:

Warp

There are 20 Fields in RPG Maker 3 that can be used for development. Each of these 20 Fields could be looked upon as a world to itself. Using a single Field, you could make an entire world map.

On top of this, a Field can be linked to other Fields. One way to maximize the potential of this is to use the Fields on a smaller level, such as making one giant town, and making each Field a section of it.

Towns and Dungeons can be placed upon Fields, as well as various effects such as trees, weather effects, and music.

WereKing used just one Field, and just 1/8 of that field, but the walking distance of it is enormous. You shouldn't have much of a need for more than 1.

If anyone out there knows RPG Maker 3 pretty well, I'd like to have them on this team creating the guide. I will be setting up a hidden project forum to deal with this alone. I need the following people:
  • 2 Writers
  • 1 Screenshot Taker
