Limitations? Forget about them!
Since the first maker hit the United States, each installment
has been given the term "limited." Without fail, it always seemed
that the barriers within the software would prevent creativity of the user.
Just as often as such naysayers scold the "limits" of the RPG Maker software, though,
there have been pioneers who set out to prove these "limits" really aren't what they seem.
This is their story!

Groundbreaking Innovations. w00t!
Let's take a walk down memory lane shall we? Recall RPGM1. Great in it's
own right. It even had an "anime maker" so you could create your own character
sprites for use in your game. What are the problems then?
There were two main concerns, the difficulty of using Anime Maker without
a mouse, and the limitation to only one memory card of system data.
It was not long, however, until two pioneers solved these problems. Valkysas (now head of the
pavilion) discovered the "multiple system card trick" crushing that limit for good. But what
of the anime maker situation? That's where ValhallaRPG comes in. The PC program, RPGC, allowed
a bmp created on the pc to be transfered to the dex drive for use in RPGM. The rest is history.

Those are only a couple of examples of limit-breaking in RPGM1,
but the time has come for us to move on.
RPGM2 brought with it a whole new set of problems. Though the programming
scripts allowed much more freedom than in RPGM1, the ability to create
your own hero was seemingly gone. Not long after it's release though, the main
complaint of RPGM2 was addressed. By working hard in the newly included VFX maker,
users could create practically ANYTHING to be used ANYWHERE in their game. This included
(but was not limited to) custom characters and music. And even to this day, new things
are being discovered regularly. Take RPGMM forum-goer NeoNash777 for instance. His
discovery (which he labeled as breaking the "greatest RPGM2 burden")allows for ANY command
to take place at ANY time. Such a discovery can ONLY open the door for new and better
creations. (For more info on NeoNash777's method, Click Here!
So where is all the harking on the past leading? To the
future of course. I want to see what you can do with RPGM3. RPGM3
has been called the most limited of the 3 makers in the US. I want YOU
to prove that statement false. Achievements in limit-breaking have already
started-such as "ThatGuy's" technique to have any character equip any weapon
type.
sounds like a contest, right! WELL! IT....isn't. :p
I considered establishing a contest prize for the user who came up with the most amazing achievement,
but then realized that the true motivation for taking RPGM to the limits (and then shattering
those limits) should be the DESIRE to DO THE UNDOABLE...not the desire to win a cheap plastic prize.
Then again, I could always change my mind...<.< >.>
Let us know about your ideas and achievements in the forums! The only limitations are the ones
you make for yourselves.
(Wow...that was cheesy...)
