This is the first update in a long line of updates that the site has needed for a while. I will not be spamming your inboxes with news for each new update, so please just check the front page for subsequent updates. So, what's so great about this first new update? Find out after the jump!
All righty then. The chat has been retooled a bit more in order to be more mobile-friendly. First things first, users will no longer be logged out if they do not have a steady, constantly connection to the chat window. This caused a problem for mobile users because mobile browsers close this connection off when you take the focus off of a window that you're using (for shame you guys! :p)
What will happen now is that after two minutes of being in a different mobile tab, the active list will display a notice to all users that the current user has had the chat closed for X amount of minutes. If a user doesn't check in with the chat after 10 minutes, THEN they will be booted from the chatroom.
This will also work for desktop users who leave the page completely and want to come back.
This is just part one of the the chat upgrades. More will be coming as they happen leading up to October 22nd, Founder's Day! Let me know what you think!
P.S. Big thanks to Thutmose for ideas and Lantis for testing.

Good job man! I don't know about the whole telling everyone about one user, that could get annoying- but you did a great job!
So far, so good, though. You really need to get into the chat to see how it handles it. It's just a one-line notice.
Thanks for the ups, though.

I was wondering how that would be handled in the future, but I think this is a good solution. Gives time for people that either have bad connection or are like me and hop out to other apps briefly. I like this.
