A new Valkyrie Profile game was just annouced not to long ago for the DS! Little is known about it yet but I've been able to find a few scans and screenshots of the game on japanese websites.

Who else is pumped for this? I'm a huge fan of Valkyrie Profile, and so far this looks pretty good. I wonder if it'll be centered around Hrist like the last two titles were centered around Lenneth and Silmeria, I've heard it isn't though, guess only time will tell.

Also, around the logo are the words: "Destiny by sinner sought, Tragedy by power wrought". Hmmm.

The FMVs are surprisingly well-detalied for a DS game, even though I was blown away by FF XII: RW and FF III, this is pretty mindblowing.



Talking with a feather? Looks like feathers will have some significance in the story, kind of like weeping lilies in VP: 1?

More feathers, and no sign of Hrist/Silmeria, looks like it'll star Lenneth again, maybe VP: 1 sequel?

Though I have very limited abilities, I can gather some of the character names at least.

The blond-haired guy seems to be named Anseru(no idea on an english equivalent), and the purple-haired girl is Erisu(perhaps Ellis in English?).

At the bottom of the scan, I see the word ITEM about this feather, and I see the kanji for "wing" or hane... so perhaps if you collect enough you get wings and special moves in battle? Just my guess.

I did some digging around on some websites and found out some of the plot:

Wylfred, the second character on the magazine scan, is angry at the Valkyries for some unknown reason, and he gains the support of Queen Hel, who gives him a magic feather that enables him to kill Gods. He then teams up with Ansel and Aiylth to take down the Valkyries. The rest is unknown.

Based on this info it seems like the game will take place after VP: 1, and will be told from the eyes of Wylfred and his companions, not from the Gods ala VP: 1.

yea im a big VP fan, have been since it came out as a sleeper hit on the ps. the ds is turning out to be an absolutely gorgeous purchase.

i will most likely buy this game when it comes out or get cheap and wait till the price is a bit easier on my wallet.

VP is awesome. I played the PS1 game... but have yet to get my hands on VP2. That's definately on the 'to play' list though.

I don't have a DS, but this is actually rather tempting...

I'm in the exact same boat. I ended up getting a PSP instead of a DS, mostly for the Star Ocean remake, which still hasn't even been anounced for an NA release! Grrr.....

I'm thinking that I made a mistake.

Oh, no... I don't consider the PSP a mistake. Not at all. But VP is actually the best title DS will have... PSP has many titles that really just tip the scales.

But yeah, VP ftw.

I got a PSP just for SO remake as well. Then I realized its got a fun library already. Especially great if modded.

I have the original VP and its great. I also picked up the PS2 VP but I still haven't opened it. Mostly cuz I also got a 360 at the same time...

While I don't own a DS, my live-in GF does and I very well may be stealing it for this. But for me, this will be a wait and see title. Mostly cuz, as I mentioned, I get a game and don't play it if I also have another new game. It's a habit I am trying to break by only getting games I WILL play. Hopefully this will be one of them.

Actually, this VP looks just like VP1. I mean, as far as the battle system goes. Though I'm pretty sure this isn't just a Lenneth port because there are quite a few unfamiliar screenshots.
