I absolutely detest my co-worker. And yes, this will mostly be a rant, however it's important for me to post things like this to get such thoughts out of my head and off my chest.

I hate her. Absolutely. She doesn't say hello. She puts me down. The boss completely trusts her and agrees with her, and her actions aren't to the point where I could whine to my boss. She is rarely pleasent to be around. I admit that I hate taking orders and prefer to do my own thing, but she doesn't seem to care.

And maybe, just maybe, this is a problem that to a normal sane person and small flaws, but in my eyes it's just hell having to work with her. We are the only two employees at a remote store branch, so it's just her and me. I could usually vent this off or talk to another co-worker, one who was curious and nice, but all the people I used to work with quit.

I want to cry. I want to scream. I want to hurt her, and kill her. Make her life a living hell, and send her to the pits of hell. But I have a boss who I generally like and don't want to anger her to anger him. I'm trapped in a position I can't escape. I hate my job that I used to love and I hate my life I used to enjoy.

I'm currently looking for a new job, one tht will get me far away from my current job. I can't take it anymore. I'm told a two week quit notice is common in jobs, and I fear that will be two weeks too many. I want to run away, far away, never to return.

She acts so proud, so tall, so perfect I could never speak out of line. Dare I do anything, no. For fear of her swift and evil retaliation. I try to get along and be nice to make amends, which only works as me being too nice and her taking advantage of that.

I hope I have the courage to quit. I hope I won't strike her in anger.

And I hope someone, anyone, feels for me.

I feel for you.

And even though I can't say I've been through a similar situation, I think I can imagine what it's like. It must be pretty bad if it's come to the point of you wanting to quit.

I'd say the best thing you could do is ignore her. It seems you try, but can't. If you can somehow find a way to truly ignore her, I recommend doing so. That will probably include acknowledging that taking her seriously will only make your life miserable, and you don't deserve that. Find a way to understand just really how pointless it is to listen to her.

Sorry I can't be too helpful =x

Good luck.

^^

I'm going against the grain (because I want to and I can't feel for you). I know i've done enough whining on this board to where my opinion probably doesn't mean a damn thing to you, but I'm going to tell you what I think.

This is a case of you not being man enough to talk to her about this situation. You're frustrated with her and her antics, yet you let it go? She can see that you won't challenge her and exploits that by continuing to do what she does. While that may be her personality, you're hurting yourself by not even standing up for yourself. What you need to do is stop sitting back and taking it and confront her next time and ask her why she does what she does. You may or may not get an answer, but it's best if you talk to her first. Don't be a coward and just quit. What are you going to do if the same thing happens at your next job? You going to quit again? You gotta learn how to deal with the sh*t thrown your way. I have sh*t flung in my face every day, but I fight through it.

As far as her not saying hi, how about you say it first and try to make small talk? Take the lead and don't expect her to make the first move. Plus, you shouldn't get so flustered over her not saying hi. It's not THAT big of a deal. Now if you do say hi and she doesn't say anything, that's a different story, but still not much to get flustered over or quit over.

Basically, nut up and talk to her. It may solve things.

The fact you posted SF proves you care enough to post.

I suppose right to it, I'm just afraid. She has this "I'm never wrong and always right" mentality and it seems hopeless to try.

But hey, things can't go much wrong, eh? I'll try and muster up some courage and give your suggestion a try. Thanks.

I can't help but be absolutely scared though.

Because honestly, I'm not all peaches and roses. In fact, during the summer and fall months the other co-workers and I (who have now all quit, ironically) basically played videogames behind our boss. Now, I don't hate this boss, because he gave me the job and I really like him, but the temptation was too much for me. She could just use that as live ammo whenever she needed to. And I don't want to hurt my boss, and she can use that against me without remorse. So I feel I have no other options. I tried going against her and she simply called him. How could I tell him it's all her fault? Would just have gotten me fired.

I feel I signed my death warrant. So yeah.....situation el suck
