Anyone play this? What a bizarre, brilliant game. So strange, and so addicting. I love it. Atlus did a top notch translating job on it too.

I've heard of it, but never played it. What's it all about?

Think Darwin's survival of the fittest and put that in a cube world.

That's it, really.

You start the game as being born, and drive for the goal of being king of cubivores. By mixing and matching what meat you eat, you mutate into different forms, which is really important to progress through the game, so you try to "eat em all"!

Surprisingly addictive!

Actually, that sounds alot like EVO: The Search for Eden... which, I believe, is a wonderful game that everyone should try to play.

It's built off of evolution as you start out as an aquatic creature and progress in species throughout the game.

If Cubivore is like EVO, I'll have to give it a shot.

I haven't played EVO, but I bet it's fairly similiar. I think anyone with an open mind ought to give it a shot.

EVO Opening:

<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/3VMdgFxOJBs&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/3VMdgFxOJBs&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

Cubivore:

<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/7-SY91xf5pw&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/7-SY91xf5pw&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

The EVO is just the intro with no gameplay, but it seems much more different then EVO, but has the same principle. In EVO, it's side scrolling. You fight and eat enemies as well. But you get points. You spend this points on evolving different party of your body... which, in turn changes your stats as well as the look of your body.

You start off as a little fish, that eventually becomes sharklike until you evolve to walk on land. And it only progresses from there. ^_^

I never played any of those games, but I would try them if I had the chance now.

So, after a long battle, I finally beat the game!

And I found....
I didn't really finish it! It turns out you have to have 100 mutations to go to the final levels. Crap! Well, it gives me a second chance to replay a favorite game of mine, so no big deal.
I haven't been playing it recently. What with Persona 3, Fire Emblem and other games taking up my time.

And it took the entire afternoon to finally finish it! Yee haw! Saddle up!
