Poll? Reason?
I vote yes because I am simply not satisfied with the console RM's and I am a vista user so XP won't work for me.
---Edit ignore double Q's don't know what happened. Just use the first ones :XD

Yes... but not 100%. I plan to. Don't know when I'll have the chance to buy it in the US. Makers don't make it to this side of the world.

I've used the japanese trial, and it's pretty good. It's a XP simplified: it takes less time and less effort, but it still has the potential to do everything that XP did (i.e., literally everything). With the scripts and whatnot.

Yes:

Looks better than all of the other RMs to me. (Includes XP)

Also, I have Vista now, and don't feel like downgrading.

Forgive me for sounding noobish, but this is the first time I've heard of this.

What is RMPX?

It's a new PC maker. Kinda like a step-up from XP.

The US RPG Maker XP works on vista just fine.

The japanese RPG Maker XP required a patch file, and now works on vista just fine.

I searched a bit on the interwebs but could find no mention of US Vista support. If I may ask, are you sure? I would dl if I knew for certain.

Man, this thing is nothing like RM1... I need me a tutorial for sure.

I have been playing with it everyday and still that light in my head hasn't so much as flickered. I just don't see the flow of developement as clearly as with RM1. I guess I just have to keep at it.

Well for one thing there's a loss less stuff. Like there's one universal tileset.

I still find XP to be the superior maker. I don't like the universal tileset because you have to search through the whole thing to find the tiles you want to use, rather than in XP where you have different tiles for different settings, which is way more orangized. Plus, you can have battle backgrounds in XP, which you probably need RGSS2 for VX to have a battle back. Then the battlers. I understand people would like to use faces (VX's "battlers") for message boxes and what not, but, I prefer to use faces in the menu and that's it. I'm sure you could make battle look like XP on VX, but then you'd need RGSS, in which I don't need to with XP.

I also like XP's RTP characters, as they look more natural and you can see more detail to your charatcers. Of course, that also means XP type characters are harder to create, but they just look more aestheically pleasing, imo. Battle system isn't much different, though the monsters look better in VX, but that's fixable.

I dunno, maybe I'm just more comfortable with XP, but I like how it's set up more so than VX.
