Hi!

It's me, Gulshog.

And...you are saying why should I care, right? Well, you probably shouldn't, and don't. But, if you do, then you have probably noticed my signature that contains the name of my RPG Maker 3 adventure, Sundered Chronicles. In this thread I will be giving out news about how it's coming along (I don't have the game yet, thanks to my moronic local game stores), and just what the game world is all about.

First off, I'd just like to say that I'm a veteran of the old school RPG's of C64 fame. I played Zork, Ultima, Bard's Tale, and a myriad of other lesser known RPG's on that grand machine. I loved em. In fact, I got hooked, you might say, on RPG's by playing them all day and night when I was a kid.

Through the years I've mostly played computer RPG's, like Morrowind, Eye of the Beholder, Baldur's Gate, Curse of the Azure Bonds, etc. I have played very few console RPG's, so that may give you a taste of how my own RPG (although it is being developed on a console) will be like.

I hope I can craft a story that people enjoy. I remember reading tons of fantasy books as a child, and just being able to forget about anything bad going on in my life. Fantasy allowed me to take a peek into worlds that I could only visualize in my head...worlds of wonder, and excitement. I hope I can make some of you out there feel this way...draw you in, and really get you excited about the world I am creating.

Sundered Chronicles is a brand new world for me. I've made other fantasy worlds in the past, for pen and paper games...but this one is being built from scratch for RPG Maker 3. It's a world that has seen catastrophe, and enlightenment...happiness, and despair. The world is truly eons old, although the Great Sundering destroyed many of the old civilizations who once controlled much of the world.

My first story takes place on the continent of Erodain. A young Maergog nomad will find that he is drawn into a story that will take him to the misty mountain tops (I had to give a nod to Tolkien at some point), and utter depths of despair. Grummel is his name, and he is who you will control in your many adventures.

In the coming days, I will be giving much more information in this thread about the game world of Sundered Chronicles, the continent of Erodain, and the first hero, Grummel.

I am also working on a manual, that will be published in .pdf format. So, if you haven't yet, go ahead and get the Adobe Acrobat Reader for free! It will let you print out the manual, if you want, or just view it on your computer without paying any money for the full program. Currently, the manual is at 28 pages. It contains a brief introduction, character sketches of every recruitable adventurer (of which there are 16), their statistics, spells, abilities, skills, monster descriptions, and more!

I'll see you in Erodain! :)

Yes, true believers, I have RPG Maker 3.

Progress is slow, however. Much slower than anticipated. I really underestimated just how much I would have to get used to in the different editors. However, I am still on track for a release of the manual by the end of next week. I should have all of the main characters created, so that their stats can be put into the first release of the manual. Unless something comes up...

I really think I am going to be able to do what I wanted to with the story. Some things are changing, and I am just altering my vision of what the game was going to be to adapt.

I don't really have any meat to give away right now, but I promise there will be more as I tackle the game and create a wonderful world for you to explore!

Haha, no offense, but it seems a tad silly to release a manual when the game has barely been touched upon. UNLESS it's a manual going over the story, the rich background and history. Then I'll crawl all over it. It's seems the main focus of this game will be the land and it's rich history....is this true, or are things heading in a different direction?
