Edit: Part 2 - Editor is now up!

"There's a special surprise in the articles section (on the site, don't ask for a link like a retard, just click the banner if you're reading this on the forum). Well, not much of a surprise, since the update title tells you what it is. Yes, it's a feature on the PS1 RPG Maker we never got, and most people who visit this site have never played or seen in action.

This is the first part of an ongoing series of articles where we will examine every single one of Enterbrain's RPG Maker titles that never made it to the US. I hope you'll enjoy these articles, or I'll hate you forever because taking screenshots and navigating japanese menus is really hard and annoying and you better appreciate it or I'll hit you."

Oh man, I'd love to get my hands on it. Depending on the script... it could be even better than the leading RM2 or XP.

Of course, with Ruby and all... it'll be hard to get past the virtually limitless things you can do with XP... but still. RM4 looks like the ideal classic SNES look. Maybe even some PS1 games.

I really like the "not standing in grid" part as well. Really nice effect to have to make the world look more real.

Like I said at the Pav, I would pay Agetec $100 if they brought that over here.

I can see why Valk hails it the best. I would totally agree. $100 for something that could possibly be the best RM out there.

And what? Don't new copies of the lastest RM sell for like.... 50... 60 bucks?

Ah well. One can hope...

If it came here, it would beat out all the console RPGMs hands-down. Except of course for lack of keyboard support, and I heard it's eats up memory of those small-capacity PS1 memory cards faster than RPGM1 does. But it would be a must-have for any RPGM junkie.

I wonder how hard it would be to reprogram RM4 to look for an input device from a USB port... say from a PS2 or PS3.

Oh wow, FMV summon spells? Way wasn't something like that in RM2 or 3? That's way too awesome. Also the battle in general is just perfect. That exactly the kind of system we've wanted since... well, since we've ever started making RPGs. Thanks to the wonderful people of Agetec, of course.

Not an issue. RPG Maker 1's multiple file trick works in RPG Tsukuru 4. It's one of the first things I tried when I imported it in 2001.

Honestly speaking... I'd give up whatever the next scheduled RM to be released for the localization and translation of this one.

I hadn't heard of one besides that RM...for cellphones.

Lol, no contest then.

Maybe I should have re-worded it as giving up the next RM to be released on one of the next gen consoles.

Actually, none of our RPGMs came with a built-in summoning system.

At this point, I wouldn't have a problem with that.

Of course, we haven't seen it, but I'm a big fan of 2d, and I've love this one, for sure. I think the RM series transcends the whole 2d/3d thing.

I've always wanted to use this RPG Maker, I bet it's so much better than RM1.

Man, the BEST rpgs are 2d. I'd give up RM2 and 3 any day to go back to an old school like RT4.

I've seen it before, but I posted that before I read the article. I didn't know that many things about it.

RPGT4 does have the music uploader that RPGT3 had in Japan right?
