Ah, the Mushroom Kingdom. Most Smash players will recognise this place from previous games in the series, where the world was represented in a pixel-art style reminiscent of the original Super Mario Bros.

But why the "y" on the end of "Mushroom"? WhatÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s the difference?

Oh, so thatÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s why!

This time around, weÃ¢â‚¬â„¢ve designed a stage that recreates the layout of World 1-1 in Super Mario Bros. Ã¢â‚¬â€œ but with rich backgrounds added to the mix.

The stage scrolls forward at a leisurely pace.

Pieces of familiar scenery scroll by.

The kingdom you once knew has turned to ruins over the long years, and it is now your battlefield.

YouÃ¢â‚¬â„¢ll get to enjoy a wide range of familiar structures. Also, since the stage slowly scrolls sideways, battles here will require you to come up with a very different strategy for winning.

Oh, and when you select this stage, it will occasionally load an alternate underground stage!

This is the famous World 1-2. This oneÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s also quite charming.

Earthbound and the original Fire Emblem are confirmed for VC and Classics mode in Brawl.

If you scroll down, you see a MOTHER2 pic, and a Fire Emblem pic. Hopefully, this confirms these games for US. I wanna see how the original Fire Emblem plays, since the remake is freaking impossible.

Now, what does this say about Geno's chances of being a PC, if that is indeed him? At first I thought this hurt his chances, but then I thought about how it looks a lot like his original SMRPG model. There's no way Nintendo would get the rights for Geno to appear only as a trophy in Brawl. Also, there is a WW Link trophy, so perhaps different versions of characters (i.e. 8-bit Mario, SNES Geno, ect) appear as obtainable trophies in SSE. So if it is fact Geno that just appeared in that video, the argument for hurting/helping his chances could go either way.

Intro? at the very beginning it seemed fake to me, but there some new footage in there

But still... I didn't get that nice feeling I got grom seeing Melee's intro for the first time years ago...

Makes next to zero sense to NOT include Earthbound, I mean, it's not like they don't already have a translation done.

12 seconds in, supposedly the roster of characters from the Japanese build of the game. I question how real it is, considering the disappointing lack of [spoiler]Miles "Tails" Prower[/spoiler] yet the odd inclusion of [spoiler]King K Rool[/spoiler]. Although if [spoiler]Lucario[/spoiler] really is a playable character, I will be happy.

That's fake. If you search for that pic elsewhere, it does''t have the big question mark. So it seems gametrailers added the question mark.

Aaaaanyway.. right now the game is being "leaked" and there are at least 3 "not yet revealed in the official page" characters: [spoiler]Marth, Ness and Luigi, but Marth and Ness where in the intro already and Luigi is one of the original vets so...[/spoiler]

I find it interesting that there are so many characters... and eventually, people will just fall in to a set few and only use them. I'm sure everyone will use most the characters in single play to unlock everything... but when you are playing with friends, it'll usually just end up being a select few.

Ah well...

I would like to bring up a topic that spawned in the chatroom yesterday.

Genji, Dray, and I were talking about how we played smash. I brought up that I don't like using times. While Genji and Dray were of opposition.

And I can understand to a point what they mean by it inhances gameplay and makes things more frantic and such.

But my side is that the items are generally broken. If you are playing someone who is on par with you... a -100 heart could be the diffrence between the entire game. Same thing for the giant mario hammer from the original donkey kong.

I think that your skill in smash should be from how well you play with a character... not which items land infront of you. When I'm playing with Kajak and all of his crew, we all prefer to shut the items off.

Any other oppinions?

I usually play timed with all the items. Makes matches more fun.

Assuming that picture is correct, you get both.

Also assuming that pic is correct... there's no Geno. ;_;
