I guess you're correct Duel, there are technically 8 with the eighth being Bliss. But you only see 7 in the game.

That would be Bowser... who joins at the bottom of Booster Tower before you save Peach. I always found that "I'm going to say you join the koopa troop when it just measn I join your party" charming.
