I have just started exploring the world of Silent Hill 2.

This game is pretty damn freaky. Moreso than RE, because of the amazing lack of gear you have. I walked around for the first hour and a half with A STICK WITH A NAIL IN IT.

Damn, son.

I decided to playing I love Katamari again to see if I could finish the last task of rolling a million roses.

And I did.

What a pointless task. :lol

And no, I didn't do it on a single try. It's impossible! The fastest for me is 1,000 roses a minute. And I had the game for a few years.

Yes! Yes! YES!

Beat all friggin' 100 missions of Urban Reign, at last!
Curse you, insanely difficult game! I had to beat it on Very Easy ¬¬ (which is what any other game would call "Normal").

There's still a bunch of fighters left to unlock, though. I'm gonna have to switch to Hard or Very Hard to unlock them... I get shivers just thinking about it.

I just beat Sonic Rush Adventure.

The story in the game is garbage, but you can skip it, thankfully. For the most part, it's about as good as Sonic Rush.

If you like some Sonic, pick it up.

Well, it's been a while since I last posted here. So this will probably be a long one.

As stated, I've beaten Mario Galaxy. But I went back and spent a good deal of time getting all 120 stars. And I did.
this will allow you to unlock luigi. I've already played around with him. He has alot of the same mannorisms as Luigi from SMB2. His triple jump looks like his normal jump from the game... you know, it looks like his running as he jumps. He also slides quite badly... like he's standing on ice.... all the time. I'll probably go ahead and play through the game with him. Oh, and here's nice attention to detail: The text and voices changed to say Luigi any time Mario was mentioned. ^_^
But boy... some of those last stars were plain flat out a pain in the ass. Seriously. Ah well, I like having that under my belt.

Me and SK finished play FF4. Not much to say to that. SK just about quit playing at the Calbrina fight. I can still rattle his nerves by bringing her name up from time to time... which is rather funny. One thing though... I didn't quite remember FF4 being as hard as it was. I mean, some of the battles were a bit unbalanced. And most the time experience just sucked.

There was even one point were we needed to level up a bit and just fought outside a town. We had to go into the inn to sleep after ever 3 fights. THREE... we couldn't stand three random world map fights. That's just a little sad. Ah well, that's done and done.

Though I'm still trying to find time for me and Kajak to finish playing FF5. We are closing in on the scene where
Galuf dies and Krile takes his place.
So far we mannaged to get our party rather awesome. I have a ninja/sorcerer. Basically he can rape with elemental weaknesses twice as much as a normal sorcerer due to the two sword ability. Then there's a red-mage who has time magic. So basically it's a mage who has access to White, Black, and Time magic. Which has come in handy quite well. He's about to master red magic which means he'll get double cast... which will probably replace time magic. Yay for life + cure 4! The two characters that Kajak has is a summoner with mastered white magic... as well as a ninja that mastered hunter. What's awesome about that is a ninja has two sword. But the master ability for Hunter is S-shot. S-shot is a 4 hits, each at half normal damage, but 100% accuracy. But seeing as he's a ninja, he hits 4 times.... per weapon. 8 hits, 100% accuracy. It's badass.

Anyway, I've also been playing rock band all the while I've been playing the above. I was pretty good at guitar, being able to play quite a few songs on expert, but the drums really looked neat. So I started playing those instead. I had to play on medium... which kind of sucked. I thought I'd generally be good at it. But over the course of time... I've finished playing the drums on hard and am playing now on expert. I'm not far into expert, mind you... but I am getting better. Me, SK, and our room mate, Jonas started a band profile. And I must say that it's really interesting, and really fun. If anyone has the oppertunity to get some friends together... this game is really awesome and I highly recommend it.

(as a side note, I'd like to point out that I played Mortal Kombat 2 on the PS3 with the Rock Band drums. The foot pedal was block and the 4 drum pads were high and low punch and high and low kick. I can use one hand on the d pad on the drums and my other to hit the pads with a drum stick. It was rather interesting.)

Anyway, I'm planning on trying to master expert. Though I'm not sure how well that'll turn out.

The only other game I'm really playing right now is Crysis. My GeForce 8500GT allows for quite a few of the setting to hit medium without any loss in frames per second... which with Crysis, that's pretty damn good... specially seeing that three 8800's in SLI mode can barely manage 35 frames per second with everything on high.

Anyway, the game is actually really fun. The fucntions of your suit you wear allows for extra defense, extra strength, speed, and cloaking. It really lets you play how you feel most comforatable. If you want to be stealth-like... cloak your way into their forces and blast someone in the face with a shotgun... only to fade back into your cloak mode. Or, if you like to just blaze through in extra strength mode, you can run up and grab people by their throats only to use them as shields or throw them at their team members. Also, your standard punch is enough to take someone out alone if you want to go chuck norris on their asses.

The storyline is real nice. It starts off with a real sense like Tom Clancy's work... but starts to drift into this alien thingy-ma-bob. I really can't say much about it without ruining alot, so I'm pretty much going to leave it at that.

All the weapons are rather nice. And you can customize each weapon to how you like. From silencers, to explosive rounds, to snipers scopes, to gernade lauching attachments, and lazer points.

The only other thing that I can really mention that I've been playing is the demo for Devil May Cry 4. I already mentioned in the thread for it that I was able to beat the second mission objective (defeat Berial) in the first mission (which was just kill as many enemies as possible in 10 minutes). I'm rather proud of that and show's me that I haven't lost my edge since DMC3. Fun times.

Oh, and as a post script. I'm thinking about getting a PSP. Which means I'll have Crisis Core, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Valkery Profile soon underway. ^_^

^ lol @ my bad-ass Ninja-Hunter

I too have actually been playing quite a bit of rockband, though since I don't own it it's been kinda spaced out. I actually talked my mom's boyfriend into buying it though so I can play whenever I go visit them.

As always my adventures in gaming are scattered all over the place. Been playing a bit of diablo 2 again lately. Workin on a bad-ass crit/penetrate Amazon, along with all the avoidances plus resist gear..basically making her an uber tank :D

Played through LoD to the end of the ghost ship
just so I could watch the memory cutscene again cause it still ranks as one of the coolest of all time.
Also played through VP Silmaria to see some of my favorite parts again. And I ran Persona 3 for about 6 ours straight just to hear the music again.

Mostly waiting for us to move into a new place to start serious gaming again...cause we really don't have a lot of room for me to set my stuff up right now.

Sorry, but the hunter class is just gay. Sshot is the ONLY worth while thing in that entire job class.

Oh, and I actually beat the last level in Tontie 2 in the Mag arcade. I was pretty stoked about that. Specially seeing as you can only hit the boss when his head is on and not one of the two bombs. One takes off 2 hearts instantly... and the other downgrades your hammer. All this while he sits on a number changing eye (you have to hit the number on they eye... not the possition he's standing on the grid).

Also beat the demo for Sonic GX and Super Mario Fusion. Those both have their own threads in the video game forums.

::edit::

Speaking of LoD. I finally talked SK into playing it for the first time. He should be starting it soon.

Just played through starfox on hard difficulty, which is pretty damn annoying around stage 6, since your blaster can't accurately hit the boss while he shoots powerful energy blasts at you. Ah well. Thankfully bombs hurt him, which is almost required to beat him. And don't get me started on Macbeth...what a pain. But hey! I did it!

I intend to finish up Wild Arms 4 soon, and move on to my new Arc the Lad Collection.

Been playing alot of Blue Dragon Recently. I am loving it. Just got to disc 2 in 34hrs. A long time by many standards but the shadow classes are so cool I find myself grinding levels wherever I can.

Also I recently picked up Galactic Civilizations 2: Gold Ed. Lots of fun to those who enjoy the civ type games.

I recently replayed Suikoden 5. I only need to finish the last dungeon. The thing is that to play the New Game+ I had to beat it first sicne it seems I deleted my clear file, so I don't feel motivated to finish it again. (I had to beat it before starting, if that even makes sense)
Anyway, I decided on starting Shadow Hearts 3. The game's not bad, but it sure feels weird to play a Colorful Shadow Hearts.
And Ricardo rules! (Even tho I like to call him Carlos for the heck of it). Mariachis + Guitar gun/flamethrower = WIN

I just completed Jade Empire for the XBOX and absolutely loved it. Now I'm going back to playing Knights of the Old Republic.

Well, I pretty much knocked out everything since my last post. Still playing around with rock band from time to time as well as me and Kajak needing to finish FF5.

As stated in my previous post, I got a hold of a PSP. I also got a hold of valkyrie profile and have been playing it quite often.

It's very unique and there's really no other RPG like it. Seeing as it's made by Enix, alot of the music and sound effects remind me ALOT of Star Ocean: The Second Story... but that's a good thing.

But the big catch with VP is the battle. You can have 4 characters in a single battle. Each one is designated to one of the four buttons. As your party is on the right of the screen, the character on square is pretty much at the head of the party. Triangle and X are just behind him/her... and in the back row is Circle. That person can't be attacked while there are people in the rows ahead (unless it's by long distant attacks from bows or magic).

When it's your turn, you press the button of who you want to attack and when. The 'when' is actually rather important. Based on the weapon your character has, they will do various attacks. They kind of set up for other peoples attacks. Basically, what you are trying to do is get as best of combo as possible. If you get a little combo gauge up high enough, you can do special attacks and/or 'greater magic'. Honestly... it's rather addicting.

The other catch is that you are colecting souls for a great war. After the end of every chapter in the game, you send one to them that matches what they are looking for ('they' are the beings of valhalla... you know, Lord odin, Freya... those guys).

What they base there need on a character is their job type and 'knowledge' of specific skills. This is pretty much just like Star Ocean 2's skills. You get points you can assign to things to raise their levels specific ways. So yeah, if you played SO2, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Oh, and if you don't send them... you could lose the over all war before the end of the game. And that's game over. Fun stuff. ^_^

Anyway, I FINALLY talked SK into playing Legend of Dragoon. We
just got they dragoon eye for Shana who's bed-ridden in Lohan.
So yeah, we aren't too terribly far... but I think he's liking it.

*chants 'Gust of Wind Dance'*

The only other big gaming thing I've got going now was sparked by the same people who made that lovely Final Fantasy Retrospective.

They made a Zelda Retrospective. Of which I liked so much, I forced SK to watch it. Upon finishing it, he suggested we played through all of them. So that's what we are doing.

We already finished Zelda 1 and Zelda: Link's Adventure and are currently playing Zelda: A Link to the Past. We are planning on playing:

Link's Awakening - GBC
Oricle of Ages and Oricle of Season - GBC
Ocarina of Time - 64
Majora's Mask - 64
Wind Waker - GC
and finally Twilight princess for the Wii. The only two we are really missing is the Minish Cap and 4 swords. Not sure if I'm going to pick those up or not durring said little zelda party. I guess we'll see.

Good to see another Zelda fan around here.

I love Link's Awakening. Play on the old brick gameboy for maximum awesomeness. :D

Oh, and Minish Cap was rather bad, in my opinion, while four swords is a must play. Not so much for the single player, but multiplayer is damn well awesome.

scratch that... I can't stand not having the rest. Minish Cap may not be all that good... but from the same token, I still played DMC2 to complete the series. I'll probably pick up 4 swords as well... though for gamecube and probably for just single player.
