I've finally gotten around to typing up chapter plans and the script for Arbor's Eve [Formally known as Neverquest.] It's gone through tons of refining, revising, and starting over. Any comments/criticisms would be greatly appreciated.

But here's the fun part - THE PREVIEW!
This first part here is the prologue. it covers everything you need to know to get interested in playing the other chapters. This is just an outline of what will happen, and by no means is exactly what will translate to the the actual game. I change my mind and make things up far to frequently for this to remain concrete.

Chapter 0

Begin with Kasper leaving his letter of intent. Afterwards, a series of non-playable sequences leads Kasper through the Paulsen Family private hunting grounds, and into the mansion via the back door. After knocking out a servant and stealing his clothes, Kasper sneaks through the house stealing whatever appears to be valuable. While rummaging through drawers in the master bedroom, Kasper is interrupted by Mme. Paulsen and forces her at knife point to open the vault in the master bedroom.
After tying her up, she begins to fill Kasper's bag. She screams, prompting armed servants to rush towards the bedroom. Kasper grabs her, and the bag, and forces her to gather all the servants in the hallway. Kasper addresses them all before throwing Mme. Paulsen to them and rides the dumbwaiter down to the kitchen, and begins to escape through a window, but the guards catch up to him. He opens his bag and tosses it to the ground at their feet, then jumps out the window and escapes towards a cave in the side of Wolf Mountain.
Kasper climbs up the mountain, and reflects on how nice a day off would be as dawn approaches. However, he realizes that they will probably send some of the guards up the mountain after him. Towards the western side, he crosses a bridge, which causes several of the boards to fall behind him. After walking a little ways further, he sees a cave and decides instead to seek refuge in it. Before he can reach it, a storm blows in and everything quickly becomes soaked. Kasper figures that if the guards find a way to cross the bridge, they may find him, so he climbs up to where there is a large rock, and hides behind it, eventually falling asleep.
Soon enough, he is awoken when the entire Earth shakes. Then, the rock begins to speak with him, It tells him about the seeds, and why Kasper is the only one who can gather them. Kasper doesn't believe the rock, and it tells him he just needs some sleep. It also tells him he needs to eat better. Kasper then wakes up in his bed with an orange in his hand. He decides to go talk this over with his old friend Strayer. Kasper gets up, and leaves his house.

End Chapter 0

And as an ADDED SUPERBONUS Here's the script from where Kasper meets the talking Rock.

Scene: Rock Cave
[Kasper is two steps in the doorway of the cave, watching the storm outside.]

Blank Box: Csssprrrrr......
Blank Box: Csssssssprrrrrrr......
Kasper: Hmmm...
Kasper: That storm sure kicked up in a hurry.
Kasper: Looks like I'll have to stay up here at least until the rain dies out.
Kasper: I should probably get some rest. I don't think anybody will look for me up here, especially with the bridge being broken.
Kasper: Even if they do make it up here, they won't stay for long. That rock over there should be plenty to hide behind.

[Kasper walks up to the rock, and leans against it. Screen fades out. Wait frames. Fade into darkened screen favored blue. Shake screen v. lightly. Kasper jumps up, and to the right two spaces.]

Kasper: Did the rock just...move...?
Blank box w/ background: It was not so much myself as it was the Earth and sky both crumbling around you Kasper.
Kasper: You...you know my...me...muh...
Rock: Yes Kasper.
Kasper: And you talk...?
Rock: I also read minds and do magic. I'm a real hit at parties.
Rock: And no, you're not dreaming.
Kasper: Then did I ?-
Rock: You didn't fall of the mountain and die either. You are perfectly awake, and alert.
Kasper: Oh. Ok bye then.

[Kasper turns around to run. An animation plays. Kasper is frozen on the spot with a green glowing outline.]

Kasper: What the hell? Why can't I move? What the hell did you do?
Rock: Just a little restraint, my boy. Now, come a little closer.

[Kasper walks a few spaces closer. Glow fades.]

Rock: I need you to run an errand for me.
Kasper: You what? What could you possibly want? You're a rock.

[Screen fades to black. Remove Kasper and rock sprites. Insert Stolteim and Clymidius sprites.]

Rock: My name was once Stolteim. I was a great and powerful wizard who on this very spot seventy-eight years ago was turned into a rock.

[Stolteim and Clymidius begin fighting. Various animations are shown.]

Stolteim: You will never take the seeds from me you fiend!

[Animation is show, Clymidius falls to his knees.]

Rock: It was right where you stand now Kasper, I battled a warlock named Clymidius for control of six mighty seeds.
Stolteim: Why can't you see that they must be planted? Why are you so blind?

[Clymidius stands up]

Clymidius: Blind? Ha ha ha....
Clymidius: You are the who is blind Stolteim.
Clymidius: These seeds will solve nothing on their own.
Clymidius: They need the guidance of my hand! Only then can there be peace!
Stolteim: No! You don't understand!
Clymidius: I've had enough of your dribble old man.

[Animation plays. Stolteim turns into the rock. Screen fades to black. Remove Clymidius sprite. Insert Kasper sprite.]

Kasper: So what's the big deal with these seeds?
Rock: The seeds you see, are not of this world.
Kasper: Meaning what?
Rock: Meaning the elders of the gods themselves passed them down to the hands of man.
Kasper: Sure....Go on.
Rock: When planted together, they will sprout a tree so mighty, and so righteous that it will use the evil of the Earth and everything in it as its sole nourishment.
Kasper: So then what? It sounds like there will just be some huge evil tree.
Rock: Not the tree. Only the single fruit it shall bear will contain the evil of Earth so concentrated in infinite density. Then, and only then will it be possible for the darkness that clouds the hearts of beast and man to be eradicated forevermore.
Kasper: That's all fine and dandy, but why do I have to do this?
Kasper: Is it my destiny? Is it written? Lemme guess, it's carved in some ancient language on something nobody can see, in a place nobody can find.
Rock: Actually, yes. It is.
Kasper: You're #*@^-ing kidding me. You have to be. That's the only explanation.
Rock: Slow down, let me finish.
Rock: I never needed you specifically you see.
Kasper: Then why the hell am I in a damn cave talking to a damn rock? Be honest with me. Did I fall off the mountain and die? Because this could never be happening in real life. Never.
Rock: Ah. So confident. Very reassuring.
Kasper: So what?
Rock: I'll put it bluntly. You're different
Kasper: Anybody could've told you that if they saw me here talking to a rock. Oh yeah, Kasper's “differentâ€

I hope Kasper acts like a toad and starts out wanting to use the seeds for evil at first or something like that. Based on what you wrote, I don't see him as someone who would jump to save the world just at the drop of a hat.

he doesnt use the seeds for evil because they cant be used for anything but good because theyre "made" of good. he acts like a toad in other ways though: stealing, womanizing, murdering...etc
