I'm guessing a certain green creature is in that video, with a certain black-cloaked one as well.

*sighs*

I really wish I had a 360 at times like these- SCIV looks awesome.

I love Star Wars and I love Soul Calibur, but I'm not sure if this is a good idea. Then again, they did the same thing with SC2 and that was my favorite game of the series. Argh! I'm torn! :(

Personally, I don't much like it. Really... how on earth are they going to tie the two worlds together without sound completely dumb?

Ah well... I'll still play it reguardless.
BTW, metal swords wouldn't stand up to a lightsaber... they would melt through with no resistance what so ever.
I'm looking forward to it. Even if it does contain Star Wars characters :)

Why didn't they just make an all starwars soul calibur game with only starwars characters? Lightsabers > Swords :P

@Lantis - yeah, but maybe *insert something here to explain how a sword can withstand a lightsaber*

*nods knowingly*

^_^

I'm sort of... well, my first reaction was that it looked awesome, right? Mitsurugi's face was brilliant. Siegfried looks like the best thing ever.

And then it's like *Darth noises* and i'm a little confused. Like... why does such an amazing looking game even need that kind of gimmick? It worried me; i remembered how SC3 had (imo, and compared to 2) sucked, because the fighting had taken second place to the shiny modes and junk.

But i think it has a fair chance of being awesome; remember Link on SC2 for cube? He was brilliant.

I'm just... suspicious. =S

Oh, and can i add that Raphael looked absolutely brilliant? Also Asteroth, in that metroidy costume =D but Raphael more.

Just think about it this way: How can Raphael's fencing swords withstand Siegried's big ass swords? Then it all makes sense.

Check out the most recent Penny Arcade comic. It made me smile.

Nah... steel stopping steel makes more sense than steel stopping a beam of light hot enough to melt absolutely anything it comes in contact with (unless it's another lightsaber).

I don't think it's supposed to make sense. :p
Still, this seems to be pretty big news. Not as big as SC: Legends though "^ ^

What?! SC3 was excellent. Though I never got the chance to play SC2. =/

Raphael did look brilliant. You've got to love his character concept. Even that absurdly cheesy Vampire-Zorro costume from SC3 looked somewhat good on him. Not many characters can manage that!

Too bad I'm not going to move to next-gen... I won't be able to play this game. Damn.

.... This is one of the most utterly stupid ideas I have ever seen in video games. I was absolutely horrified to hear the sounds of Darth Vader's breathing during the fade out portion of the video, because I already knew what was coming. ... And the creators know very well that this will bring in the money, nonetheless, because the Star Wars fanboys will gobble up the prospect of being able to fight with Star Wars characters before it can even fall down into the dog's dish where such a lame idea rightfully belongs.

..... Other than that, the Soul caliber characters themselves look great, as Regal has pretty much already said, and the gameplay appears solid. Sophitia rocks immensely, may I also add.

I saw that a while ago. I can understand Link, Heihachi and Spawn... but THEM!?!? And if they could at least put them both together. I want a showdown!

I would have love to been at the bar that the creative staff at Bandai Namco go to when someone suggested this little idea.

Ah, to be but a fly on the wall...
