I created this topic because I do think that the "Completed Works" topic

http://www.rpgmmag.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5582

will solicit feedback, but I really want each gamer to have a single post or "card" as they have been called elsewhere to show their accomplishments and achievements. Any additional posts from the "Completed Works" topic other than your single card should be moved here.

To answer 1ce's questions, I think that this forum could be used to place the Sticky to notify that your card in the other forum has been edited so that people can read what is new on it.

Also for Mag RP, I included questions as to which Mag Role Playing games you are playing at the site itself (as opposed to using RPG Makers) as I believe that is also relevant to "our lost cause". The questions are for which Mag RP games you've created, played previously (like if you don't play it anymore even though the game is still active), which Mag RP games you are the DM (Dungeon Master) or Host of if that is the type of RP game it is, and which do you still activley participate in.

As for the game playing achievements, to expand on what I said in the original post, this is meant to be where you indicate what kind of special achievements you've made on someone else's game. In other words, if I create a special weapon that you have to play through a special dungeon to get, you actually play my game, and you actually play through enough of my game to get the weapon, then you can list your achievement in that section. It is both a way to brag about being a hardcore PLAYER of RPGM community games, and provides the RPGM game maker incentive to create special quests, unlockables, etc. (like in some professional games), so that we in the community, can all play each others games a little more deeply.

So this topic will cover for everything that can't be posted on the 'card'.

One thing I noticed the other topic had failed to include was a section for what upcoming games we plan on making. I'm currently working on WAR!, a tactics game for rpgm1.

And the achievements are a fun idea, and maybe I can intergrate that into my current project. I know that with Usuru there are several 'secret' areas that are never mentioned that you can find, and even a couple of items that are for collection and have no real purpose.

-Yes this topic will be for everything that can't be posted on the card thereby keeping that forum much easier to navigate and yet allowing discussion, updates, etc. to still be available.

-I intentionally did not include plans for upcoming games because I want it to be 'full credit' only. Too many people (myself included) have plans for games that never get made. The card is about work (game making or playing) that is completed. When I say "playing" that is completed, I mean simply that you at least tried the game to some extent (you do not necessarily need to finish the game, but you have to do more than load it to really PLAY it). I see nothing wrong though with you including a link to your development studio where you could post your plans or work in progress there.

-Yeah, not all of us are going to get to play all levels of everyone's games. In a sense the only "partial credit" is that you tried someone else's games even if you did not complete it by playing it all the way through, because it is important for us to at least try each other's games. But by at least indicating some achievements that we've accomplished in someone else's games, the developers can receive recognition that other Magonians are not only trying the games but really playing them and I know there are a lot of gamers who like hidden items, quests, or unlockables, so why not brag there like they would for any other ("professional") game.

I think listing what FAQ's you've contributed (or any other such contributions) is a good idea and one that I had not thought of.

I have, however, noticed that a couple people have listed or want to list what they are presently working on. I discourage this as the topic is meant to be what you have actually completed and made available at the site. So if you have made a demo and submitted it, list it as a demo, but if you have not submitted anything or have only submitted a description of the game, I don't think you should list it on your card.

I think it is a good idea to put a link in your card to somewhere else in the site, like your studio, etc. if anyone else wants to read up on what you are working on, but the point in a sense of the topic is for all of us to look into the mirror and see just how much or little we have actually finished.

I myself have over 20 game ideas all with titles and developed ideas or experimentations, but I have not yet submitted a single game. The nakedness of my card reflects that as it should to motivate me to do more.

I listed the FAQs to help advertise the fact that they're there. Apparently, it's a tough game. More than one player has had difficulty with it, and no one I've talked to has found all the secrets. I'm trying to do as much as I can to make it known that there are companion resources available for the game.

Current projects and stuff have been removed.

This is a really cool idea, and I didn't notice it until just a little while ago. I rarely come into the "Chat" forum, but this and the original thread are two good reasons to come by here more often.

Oh, by the way, I created my own card several minutes ago. I have to update it later. I just can't remember all of the RPG Maker 2 and 3 games that I've played. I'll have to go through the submissions and check. Then I'll add some more info to the card.

Yeah I just finished making a card too. I think it's a cool idea. I have a question though. Do we put demo's in with the full games?

If you have actually submitted it to the Mag you can list it but indicate somewhere (like in parenthesis) that it is a demo, teaser, playable trailer, or other such status. Then when you complete and submit the final game you can list that as well (preferred for record keeping) or remove the demo designation if you so choose.

EDIT: If you want to say list your full games first followed by your demos, that is fine but I think that whole group should still be listed per RPGM type:

For example:

RPGM1 games submitted: Game A
Game B (demo)
Game C (demo)
RPGM2 games submitted: none
RPGM3 games submitted: Game D
Game E (demo)

Updated Completed Works card to indicate that I completed playing 2 of the RPGM3 Sequelpalooza games that we get to choose from. I'm still playing the third.

I didn't finish either one though.

Updated to indicate that I played (in part) Holy-Chaos: Prophecies Unleased.

And for all the exchange of words lately, why aren't you guys updating your cards to:

1. Support the gamemakers by playing the games
2. Support the forums by keeping us current with what you've played (i.e. how you supported your fellow Magonian)

???

Just made my card today. I'm not sure I was even aware that the "card" thread even existed until I wandered into this thread. It's a good idea, Bo. I dig how you are lending your support to the community.

C'mon people, play something this weekend and create a Card to let us know what you've played!
