Has anyone found the Wii Zapper yet? I was at Game Crazy the other day, and I was purchasing RE: Umbrella Chronicles, when the guy behind the counter suggested the Wii Zapper. Its a cool device that converts your Wii remote and nun-chuck into a really cool lightgun. I was also impressed to find that the price was only 20 bucks, not to mention that it comes with a free game titled Link's Crossbow Training.

Links Crossbow training is addictive and fun! Plus, RE:UC can be played with WAY more ease. I also find myself getting S ranks in some of the levels. (And I'm not really a pro at lightguns)

Long story short, if you have a Wii, you have got to get this Wii Zapper!

Also, as far as I know, the games that support this feature so far are-

*Resident Evil: Umbrella chronicles (rail shooter)
*Link's Crossbow Training (assortment of minigames)
*House of the Dead 2 and 3 (rail shooter-this spring of 2008)

If you guys find anymore games that support this oh-so-fun toy, please post! :P

I've already heard about the Wii Zapper.

I don't find it that useful.

I used it when beating Umbrella Chronicles over Thanksgivinf break, and I have to say, it gets on my nerves.

The A button becomes the Z button, and sometimes, the nun chuck can come unattached in the middle of playing. Also, it seems to have some pretty bad motion detection.

I would think that this statement refers to the Wii remote itself, not the Zapper. I never noticed a change in the motion detection, it works like it always does, the Zapper just gives me a steadier hand when aiming.

Does anyone happen to enjoy lightguns here, or am I the only one. :?

I enjoy the NES light gun, in fact, I still play Duck Hunt from time to time.

And by bad motion detection I mean this: In Umbrella Chronicles, there are certain points where you must shake the controller to dodge an attack or counter a zombie, ect. ect. Well, I found through testing that when using the Wii Zapper, shaking the controller hardly ever works.

^Oh, in that case I totally agree, the reaction command that had you shake the nun chuck from side to side was SOOOOOO BAD!

Also, I found that after a successful counter attack, the other zombies would suddenly pop up right in front of you, making it very stressful to switch your guns at the last minute.

I found Link's Crossbow training to be very fun, if not a bit challenging to get a rank above bronze. Overall, a good game.

Oh, and 'right on' for mentioning Duck Hunt, that game is the shiz.

I think selling a hunk of plastic that holds your wii controller in a fixed possition is pointless and dumb. The lower price the Wii is... get's made up from all the random junk that nintendo craps out. There's also a plastic ring your wii controller will snap into and make it a steering wheel. That along with the ethernet port (that should have been ON the wii in the first place) component cables, recharging bay (which are pretty useless seeing as you won't be able to charge the controller while playing like with the other two next gen consoles) and $60 controllers (if you include the nunchuck, which I do because more games require it than not). Not to mention the fact that there's different types of controllers.... I'm pretty sure that the people who own all these extra bits of hardware are thinking that the PS3 isn't as expensive as it once looked.

But I think we've all agreed that the wii is way more gimmicky than any other system to date. So far I've gone out of my way to get the ethernet adapter and another controller (w/nunchuck). I got component cables, but it made the picture worse, believe it or not. So I took it back. Also, I got the recharging bay too... but it broke and wouldn't charge my controllers anymore... so I took that back too.

The only other thing I will be purchasing for this system is games only. Anything else is a waste of money.

Lantis, I guess Nintendo's goal was to enhance gameplay experience. But I'm not really sure if it actually does that since I haven't gone as far as buying a plastic steering wheel.

Lol, I'm smart enough to not buy any of that stuff. The only things I've bought for the Wii (Besides games and VC game.) since I got it were an extra controller + nunchuck, and a Classic Control.

The lucky thing about the extra peripherals is that a lot of them are bundles with games that you use them for. Like Mario Kart Wii is still going to cost around $50, but it will come with the steering wheel.

Yeah, and guitar hero 3 comes with a guitar. Wonderful and all... but the problem comes when you have a friends that both want to use bundled hardware. And we've already decided that the Wii is definately more of a multiplayer console so....

I'm surprised it looked worse with the component cables. I'd expect that purchase to be worth it. You're saying as opposed to standard A/V cables?

But, it still has some great single player games now, and some even better ones in the future. (Almost completely single player based Crystal Chronicles is being made for the Wii.)

@ Bo - Actually I am. The picture was in fact clearer... but for some reason everything seemed a good deal more pixelated. To the point were A/V (composite) calbes worked better for me.

I did alot of looking on the net and forums and found that it it was actually a repeated problem. The only thing that seemed to fix it is to send the entire console back to nintendo.

@ Myoky - Another Crystal Chronicles? Isn't that like... flogging a dead horse?

I'm actually surprised that people STILL buy Wii Play just for the extra controller. Only to find out that Wii play gets old very quickly.

Wii play is a $10 game with the controller. Well worth it for pool alone to some people. (My dad is STILL obsessed with Wii Play pool)

^The pool can get very addictive for me. :P

I do agree that the console can get quite gimmicky with all of it's little attachments here and there. I don't see myself buying most of the peripherals anytime soon, but some of them are fun. I am still having a blast with Umbrella Chronicles using the Wii Zapper, and I always find myself coming back to Wii Play just for the tanks game alone.

I guess 'to each his own', and I found the Wii Zapper to be very fun.

The steering wheel attachment that was mentioned above may be a good candidate for my collection in the future. :\

I would only get the steering wheel for Excite Truck.

^Yeah, I can't wait to try it on Mario Kart too.

I also can't wait for House of the Dead 2 & 3, I really like this Wii Zapper, and I never realized I was so into rail shooters.
