You know. There are some movies that you've never seen, but hear about constantly.

One that qualifies for me is Office Space. I heard people mention it all the time, but I was like "what the hell for". But now I know better. File the TPS reports.

I agree re:Office Space. When Beavis and Butthead first came out, I thought it was stupid, so when I heard that Mike Judge made Office Space, I had no desire to see it. In the intervening years, I've heard SO MUCH about it that one day, I'll probably break down and watch it.

I also LOVE (ie-hate) when I see a film at the theatre (Fight Club, Memento, Waking Life, etc.), and at the time, no one seems to know anything about them. Then a year later, after they've been on DVD for a while, all of a sudden everyone is a huge fan.

I haven't seen Back to the Future, but everybody talks about it. I just have no desire to see it.

Office space, definitely.

But I think most people I know talk about Star Wars, which I find overrated.

zomg! .... *mind goes completely blank* ... er... that one that's really stupid... Napoleon Dynamite! that's it. it was on in class one day but the work was SO much more interesting, i couldn't manage to watch it. honestly.

also Team American: World Police

and Saw (1, 2, and 3... or however many there is these days @__@)

the Rocky movies... i've seen parts of some of them i believe... but mostly havn't seen any of them.

The Godfather

Terminator movies. or.. i think i've seen one of them? not sure though. don't really remember.

it took me AGES to see 300 though I have now. a friend made me, she's all like IT'S SO GOOD COME YOU HAVE TO. and it was quite good, fun to watch anyway.. the whole speedslowspeedslow thing lol

hmm.... might think of more later and come back or something. there's tons of films i've never seen >_<

I'm the wrong person to ask this too as I never see movies anymore. Most of the ones that have been mentioned apply to me to except Office Space, Star Wars and the Rocky movies.

I guess for me the most surprising ones based on their popularity and recentness are all the Harry Potter movies which I have actually wanted to see since the first one.

how do you know if you havn't seen it?

i can imagine it might be, sort of like napoleon dynamite in that way *shrug* but i havn't seen either so i don't neccessarily know. all the funny parts of Borat were in the trailer, so i've been told, so i count myself as having seen and liked it as much as i want to =P

I would have to say Napoleon Dynamite. They carried 'Vote For Pedro' shirts at the local 'Hot Topic' and all the little 12-35 year olds were grabbing them like blow laced hotcakes.

Everyone tells me I have to see Across The Universe.
Haven't gone to see a movie in a few years, but I might for that one.

The Labyrinth. It seems like everyone knows the name, but just a handful has seen it.

And on that note, I was as Barnes and Nobles the other day and found out that theres a Labyrinth manga... Yeah, that's right, that means David Bowie is in a manga. O_o

Why do you assume I haven't seen it? I have seen it. Never assume.

The topic title is an overview, you have to actually read the posts in the topic, if you don't have time for that don't bother replying. o.O generally unless one is replying directly to the first post, and often even if one is, the quote function is a good thing to use to show others what you mean. or you can explain. clarity is always appreciated, especially if you're going to be picky later.

/forum etiquette and junk

possibly i need that forum etiquette video that was posted .. a lot of people talk about that one :/

I generally do, with a few exceptions. And even those, I give a cursory glance to, in case the person MIGHT FINALLY say something relevant or interesting, instead of, "LOL I agree!"
