YEY FOR TURKEY DAY!

I think the best part is the left overs. Turkey slices over bread with stuffing gravy and cranberry. :D

If you don't know what the difference white and dark meat.. This is what it is.

White- Breast and Wings

Dark- Thys and Legs

Best way to remember.. White is from the waste up. Dark is from the hips down. :)

I like white meat.
The thing I don't like about Thanks giving day is that it becomes from turkey to turkey week.

Yes, I become ungrateful for having so having to eat too much turkey. :x

I eat both, but dark is much more tasty.

I just like getting together with relatives. Because my relatives and I are complete hermits until Thanksgiving and christmas eve.

Yay, another holiday completely ignored in my country!
I never quite understood Thanksgiving, what is it about besides having a family diner with turkey?

It's about... giving thanks. People save all their thanks for a year and discharge them this day only. Oh, and it also involves natives or something like that.
Living in Puerto Rico is interesting, we have our own holidays, most of US holidays, a few Spanish holidays. We take any excuses to have a day of. :lol

Basic US history here.

Back in Virgina, the pilgrims had a large harvest of food and gave thanks for the good harvest. The Indians joined and brought lots of food.

It's much more than that of course, but that's it in a nutshell. Now it's all about getting together with fanily for a big, yummy feast!

Keke ^___^ that's what I always say about Canada too. Thanksgiving is a totally american holiday, about coming to a new land and backstabbing the natives or something like that. But we celebrate it in Canada even though we never had a thanksgiving, just stole the idea from the americans cus it was another excuse for a party, except we dont' even celebrate it on the same day >_<.. it's sometimes in the new year.. not sure when.. possibly march? :/

@gnasher - why don't you start posting up threads for Brazilian holidays then? ^___^ i'm sure there are a few varieties of us that would like to know.

I like both kinds, but sometimes the white meat can come out pretty dry. I love the drumsticks, I like to tear into them like a starving barbarian. :P

I'm not too fond of cranberry sauce, but leftover turkey on sandwiches, MMMMMMMM!!!!!

@kitty - *blink* to be perfectly honest, I have no idea. *looks it up* http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thanksgiving_%28Canada%29 ... apparantly the second monday in october? so i was way off....

for those who want to know about american thanksgiving history: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thanksgivi ... _States%29

also apparantly canada stole the Name?... from the americans and the actual holiday ideals and stuff from the european harvest festival. interesting.
