Game Trailers is going into a great ammount of detail to pull up everything there is to know about the Final Fantasy series. And quite frankly, they did a hell of a good job. You should really see what they have to say.

It will take a good deal of time to watch them all, but it's well worth it.

Note...don't click on them by the pictures...they are not what the pictures are...nor will you necessarily get the number you click...for example. part one is indeed FF1.... However part 2 is ff2 and 3 and so on and so forth.

However it does contain a lot of interesting information.... Although I personally don't agree with everything brought forward by the retrospectives I do like watching them.

holy crap. i just sat down and watched the whole thing back to back. took 5 hours aprox. anyone who can do the whole thing in one go deserves a medal, my eyes are throughly shot.

moving on, i think this is a very good documentary on the franchise. it gives a very good look, however lengthy, of the progression of square and the many games they have done. this is the best documentary ive ever seen on the issue and i am very impressed with the quality.

is this professionally done or the work for a side site? it mentioned weekly installments so i wonder what else they have done and what nature they undertook this project for.

edit: after watching plot synopsis for about two dozen or more games by square i must say im burnt right out. its amazing how many games they have made that where so similar and then to see the amount of games so different from one another. an impressive spread if i do say so myself, as well as a very informative documentary on the whole square experience.

The documentary is 5 1/2 hours long and I was beginning to pass out from exhaustion towards the last half of the last part. (good thing I don't have to work today )

I think that they would have done better to give each game in the main run its own part as opposed to clumping them together. Also it was SORELY lacking on developer interviews. While TRUE it is pretty long already, each episode could have easily been an hour long or more if they had taken the time to flesh out the the documentary with those things.

If it was my documentary to do I would have chucked Kingdom Hearts altogether. Those games are merely poorly conceived crossovers whose popularity is based solely on the lucky coincidence that 15 year olds boys are young enough to still like Disney but old enough to have played FF7, AND THAT'S ABOUT IT. I don't care who that web series says wrote it, that's a "disney" plot if I ever saw one.
Final Fantasy = Mature Story Telling. PERIOD. END OF DISCUSSION.

Yeah, I watched almost the whole thing, skipped only 1 or 2 parts. I agree with Staffy, any game in the main FF series is material for a real documentary, over 60 minutes long. I also would have liked to see more about the characters and storytelling and not so much about technical issues or servers or battle systems.
