I'm not particularily excited about Online play.

As Dray said in the chat, it seems like regular gameplay... but with lag.

Has everyone gone over what characters they will definately/probably use? I'd think that'd be a good way to carry on convo.

I'd probably just stick with Link and Samus as I usually do...

I usually swap between Pikachu, Yoshi, Fox, and Bowser. But I'm apparently way out of practice, because the last time I played, I was only able to do any good with Pikachu.

I'll very likely be trying out the new characters in this game, though. Especially the Pokémon Trainer.

Well, as my very temporal sig suggested, I hope Peach remains being my main character, and I've always wanted to get better with the Ice Climbers. Of the newcomers, I'm definitely looking forward to checking Pit out, and I'm very interested in Pokemon Trainer too.
In melee, I was only decent enough with Peach. She has always been my favorite Nintendo character since SMB2 (along with Toad) I'm specially looking forward to see her Final Smash. I want it to be someone that makes you think "If she did that more ofte, she wouldn't be kidnapped so frequently"

And for some reason, I've beggining to think Baby Bros. would be a good character idea. Or at least they can be done in an original way, meaning, not looking like an Ice Climbers clone (I could explain myself better if someone is willing to listen.. er... read it)

But then again, I have some unusual ideas for character that I know will never happen, like Twinorova from LoZ (mix of Zelda/Sheik with Ice Climbers) and Super Arrow and Mrs. Arrow (I wouldn't care if one is the clone of another. They are my favorite F Zero racers)

About the updates, today's was good, but I don't think there will be many updates that will make me go "Whoa!" anymore. (Unless they still have some newcomers to show us. I believe the ones shown are the starters, and we won't get any other until after the game is released)

They need Geno... badly.

I thought it was already proven that they weren't all starters, because Metaknight was stated to be an unlockable character, yet he has a character page and update.

It was? That doesn't make much sense to me...
But my point is still the same... sort of.
I don't think we'll see any more non-revealed newcomers in updates until after the game is released

heh, well, i always worked best with Marth. seeing that he's out of Brawl, to be replaced by Ike (a fairly obviously VERY different character), well, it raises some questions as to what the hell i'm supposed to do now.

oh, yeah... and Ness, i loved that kid and his baseball bat. Marth and Ness.

i'll admit that Pit and Metaknight do look pretty interesting, and i'm curious as to how Zelda will play while unable to transform into Sheik.

and that thing about changing Yoshi's egg throw is possibly the best change between Melee and Brawl, like... ever. that damned egg throw >_<;;

Metaknight's unlockable? Well, maybe he was only added to the list on account he was revealed in the promotional trailer and thus we already know he's there anyway, and any unlockables we don't know about won't be revealed.

With today's update, I'm feeling more confident that Snake is not an unlockable, despite what has been supposedly said about him. (I see him like Link/Heihachi/Spawn in SC3)
I find it hard to believe Metaknight is too. Luckily my intersests lay mainly in Pit, so if they are indeed unlcockable I won't really care that much.

The legendary mercenary makes his miraculous Smash debut! This law-breaking news roared around the world.

He comes fully-loaded with cool and showy weapons that only he could possess. Fusing these together with the different wondrous worlds on display really does offer new horizons.

Eventually we're going to see some real gameplay footage that isn't just them playing with the camera. I especially want to know what happens when a final smash is performed. Hopefully it doesn't pause the action to show the flashy animations. That'll be one huge drawback if it does.

I don't think it'll be like that. I think it'll be like opening one of the larger pokeballs in past games. players will be free to move while it happens unless you get caught in it.

I'd think that while doing a final smash though, that the player can't take any damage. If so than it would be way to easy for someone behind you to just walk up and knock the crap out of you.

Just that it seems like Nintendo has a habit of having all their special attacks freeze-frame for maximum spiffiness, recently. Mario Tennis on GameCube, Mario Strikers... These final smashes are looking relatively similar.

Take a look at these, for example, if you want to learn more about a character you saw in the background in Smash. Or when your interest in a particular character’s back-story has been piqued, and you want to learn more about them.

Having trophies that explain your characters is quite useful.

And, in a bonus mode, you can even create something like this.

Since we’ve gone to the trouble of gathering all these universes together, I hope you’ll enjoy gaining a deeper understanding of these characters. It’s with that intent that we’re all working so hard.

Yeah! The trophies are back! There were a lot of people saying how stickers have definitevely replaced them.
This makes me feel more confident that to get more Assist Trophies, we will have to collect them just like we normal triphies first.
