We have plenty of RPG games floating around here. And while that's good and all, we've seen fewer attempts to explore the deeper and more complicated side of RPGM1.

Not anymore. I'm currently working on a new project, and plan to bring a new genre to RPGMaker1.

I announce that a tactical RPG is in the works at Quixotic Productions. More information will be given as it surfaces.

A real tactical game, yes.

It'll have the standard long arcing story, though it won't be so confusing like other TRPGs.

Umm... Wow! It's actually possible to do a tactical game with RPGM1?

What am I screwing around with RPGM3 for?

Tactical games are way, way more fun than the prevalent "traditional RPG"s.

Are you sure you know how you're going to create it? Creating a tactical RPG on RPGM1 is quite an undertaking. People haven't even been able to successfully create one on RPGM2!

I had some extra time to work on rpg's today, and since Usuru DX is ready to be shipped, I worked a bit on my unnamed tactics game.

The beginning is coming along well, if a bit slow. While there's not much length to it right now, my mastery of the coding is paying off with awesome special effects right at the beginning. One special effect in particular turned out exactly how I wanted it to. It took a good hour to make it, but watching it all makes it worthwhile.

I'm working on the story right now. Once that gets settled I'll begin working more on the battle system. Right now there's no topic in my studio: Something I will fix with more progress.

Well, there's not much to say right now. I'm still working on the game a little each day. The beginning is mostly story, and I'm trying to add little details where I can. For example, when you exit a room, you open the door, go through it, then turn around and close the door.

Have only been playing with a test version of the battle system so far.

To inform: I've done a good portion of the beginning to my liking, so now I'm going to work hard on the core gameplay and make it work the way I like. So I'm working on the core gameplay mechanic, so I better not screw up :lol

I'd also like to see if I can squeeze a fishing game in there too. Going to work on that.
