Sigurd almost had to bat an eyelash or two at the ferocity of the people in front of him. 2 of his men were already unconscious and the others were hardpressed. And only a moment had gone by.

@Gnasher - The guard anticipates your attack and pivots but is slow to react, instead of the head he takes a shot to the shoulder. He's obviously shaken but he's not quite down yet. In fact he's furious as he slashes wildly about with his spear.

@Link - As you knock the guard unconscious another comes from behind you and makes a mad swipe with the shaft of his spear at your mid section.


@BQ - Another guard runs toward you but stops short, reaching a hand into a pouch at his side and flings a handful of flash powder into your eyes, temporarily blinding you, and throwing off your aim with Riblam.

Another guard takes your einheriar from behind, peircing through his lower abdomen. Seems like the guards might be taking it easy on you but not on anything you throw at them.

Einheriar - HP 1/6

@TheOnly - The guard you kicked down does not seem pleased at all, nor very wounded. He picks himself up and approaches you cautiously, spear out before him. His eyes glint as though he's ready for a little payback.

Armored guard - HP 8/9

@SK - A guard that was knocked over in the confusion picks himself up. You happen to be the first thing he sees, and he doesn't seem to be very pleased. He hurls his spear at you!

"Weak pathetic humans! Know your place!" Ende shouts as he raises his spear. He viewed this as a grave insult upon himself. His angry gaze was enough to make any sane man freeze out of fear. "You shalt kneel before me, as I show my superiority." One of the guards falls to the ground grabbing his head in anguish. Once the guard came back to his feet, he started slaughtering his comrades. This seemed to amuse Ende greatly. Just standing there smiling as the dirty work is being done for him.

Under Ende's gaze the guard attacking Illya's Einheriar falls to his knees screaming. The man then get's up, rips his spear from the Einheriar's chest and turns upon the armored guard attacking Illya. The guard is caught unprepared and is caught by a strike from Ende's minion across the chest.

But the guard struck is shoved towards Illya and unknowingly swings his spear towards her, catching her in her midriff.

{Uh oh guys! You better work together or your going to unwitting end up hurting each other.}

At this rate, William can only react out of instinct, allowing his only great fear of being killed in this battle to guide his every move. There is simply no time to think. Seeing one of the other seven blinded with guards closing in on her, he rushes over to try to help fend them off, but no sooner does he do this than William peers out of the corners of his frightened eyes to see another guard hurling a spear straight for his heart. The young elf, fortunately having much agilty, leaps and tumbles just out of the way.

*Shouts Glorian battle cry*

Wargolth quickly makes use of his assassin skills and quickly strikes with his fists instead of his sword. "I only kill the evil-hearted."

*Gasp* Illya gasped as she got hurt by the swing of the guards spear. She's strong however her stamina doesn't help her condition. At this rate she'll have to play long distance attcks. Illya spotted a balcony at the second floor, she then call her wings and fly upwards reaching the balcony. She will try to scout from above, giving everyone warnings if a guard is trying to attack them plus attacking from above.

I try to dodge roll to the side quickly. If I did succesfully, attack one of the gaurds that are going for OnIy. If I get hit, I fall face first to the floor.

Bael analyzes his opponent coldly. Unconsciously he notices and processes the battle around him.
Newbies, he thinks to himself.
But then he notices something... the guards... they were holding back! The world around him slides into focus once more... the king... there was a king... and heroes... a test! Yes, this was only supposed to be a test!
Bael steps out of the range of the guard he was confronting. He quickly pivots on his feet and swings the blunt end of his polearm at the head of the apparently stunned guard. {The one that harmed Illya.}
Hitting or not, Bael continues his pivoting motion until he is face to face with the first guard again, and adopts a defensive stance.

Kayn was standing farthest away from the group as the king spoke. As the guards came out, it took a while for them to see the wall flower and his dark cape. But it seems that William's late entry caused a few guards to look his way.

("Psh... leave it to an elf.")

Kayn has always had an issue with elf kind. In fact, as a Dark Elf, he didn't even care running into other dark elves. And for some reason, seeing such a young elf running around with a sword really caused Kayn and his 500 years of experience to scoff.

But he had no time for that. A guard was making a mad dash for him. Kayn didn't reach for his twin bladed staff... he casually stood there. Just before the spear made contact, he jerked up his wrist that was covered by a steel gauntlet.

The tip of the guards blade reflected off the gauntlet and flew harmlessly by Kayn's head. With the guard only inches from Kayn, the guard had no means of attack and was wide open. Using his other hand, Kayn grasped the guard's collar and turned slightly and planted his other hand at the base of his armor. With all his might he tossed the guard with great speed right into the guard that damaged Einheriar.

Kayn leaned back up from the throw and reached for his back. ("Fine, if the king wishes to sacrifice his guards to see what we can do, I won't show mercy.) He retrieving the weapon that the Dark Elves forged some 300 years ago. A oak staff with a elegant blade on either end. The oak had been petrified which has strengthened the bo dramatically. Before it's petrification, the elves had carved runes into it that only he, or other elves could possibly translate.

Readying his weapon, he dashed towards the two guards who were recovering from the throw...

Jerod was backing ub slowly as a guard moved in to strike. Suddenly, the guard's arm moved slightly and Jerod jumbed to the side as the guard threw the spear.

@William - You manage to cartwheel out of the way of the hurtling spear.... And as soon as you land the Guard who just threw his spear appears right in front of your face, WITH HIS SPEAR! How it this possible! Heswings in a downward ark and catches your thigh pushing you back and wounding you slightly.

@Linkman - You duck under the spear easily and roll to the side You're near the guard attacking Only and his back is turned to you. What will you try now?


@Kayn - As the guard you threw impact the other guard they both begin to shimmer and phase out. Looks like these guards are serious about testing you all. They appear to be using illusions.

@Gnasher - Your halberd sings around and....the apparently stunned guard grins and sidesteps out of the way. Your blow connect with Ende's Minion and Sends him flying back into Ende, knocking both to the floor.

When you pivot around you have just enough time to see the butt of a spear aimed at your stomach.


@Wargolth - As the Linkman dodges the guards attack you come in behind and pummel him on the back of his head. The guard grunts and turns to you laughing when he sees your bloodied knuckles.

Perhaps using the flat of your blade is a better idea than your fists when fighting armored opponents. Not much time to think Wargolth! The guard lunges at you!

@BQ - The fight seems rather chaotic as you fly up to the balcony. To your amazement, you catch the scene just in time to see the guard sidestep Gnasher's attack and the damage that follows. But you don't have much time to think. Even more surprisingly the guard that just attacked you turns towards you, sprouts wings, and flies up to you.

@Wargolth - You whirl around your opponents spear and rap him on his head with the flat of your blade. He steps away and it's very clear that there's a loud ringing inside his helmet.

I attack the guard facing OnIy. I don't go full speed, because if it's an illusion, I don't want to run into OnIy.

Damn. They are good.

Bael looks around, almost desperately. One guard sprouted wings; and it seemed there was nothing beneath the armor but thin air.

Magic.

Not illusions. The damage done by illusions wouldn't be so real.

Bael opens his mouth to speak for the first time.
"Magic!" he yells for everyone to listen.

"Stay together! Group in the middle of the hall! Stay together! Back to back, facing out! Group!"
Bael begins to walk to the center of the hall, still facing his opponent. Bael is in a defensive stance, on the lookout for any attacks coming from his back.

Gravely but not fatally injured, William grits his teeth and staggers back a little while clutching his side from where the spear had caught him. Through the intense pain, William managed to keep one eye open to watch for the guard's next attack as he frantically swept the ground around him with one hand to retrieve the Northern Longblade that he's dropped upon being attacked. It had appeared that the guard had every perfect opportunity to strike the finishing blow on the essentially disabled young elf, ... but for some reason his opponent held back, appearing to study William, sizing up his abilities, rather than rush forward.

It is amazing that I am still alive in the middle of all of this chaos, William thought to himself, finally feeling his left hand close around the hilt of his sword. If these are the King's personal guards attacking us, then certainly they should be skilled enough to slay a neophyte swordsman like myself in just one blow. .... Or, are they holding back on purpose?

When William took a quick glance around the room to see that apparently two guards were down and yet he and the other seven potential heroes summoned by the King were still alive, that suspicion was confirmed. Then, I must try my best to fight without taking a life, myself, and yet prove that I can be strong enough to protect this world, he thought, ignoring the pain in his side and standing back up on two firm, nimble feet. William held up the Northern Longblade in the only battle stance that he had ever been taught by his late master, remembering to turn the blade to the wrong side in order to avoid severely hurting the guard, and, taking a deep breath, he swung.

Seeing Link's (Jerod) attack I duck. I wait to see the outcome of his attack before I attack the guard myself.

I'll go into a counter stance. I'll wait for a guard to attack me and quickly attack back!
