So yeah, get on the Wii's shopping network. It's only up "for a limited time". Only takes up 70 blocks of memory, and it's completely free.

They also have this Info at the bottom of the shopping main menu that gives a brief promotion on what Nintendo is calling "Metroid Month". I didn't realize that Metroid Prime 3 was coming out this month!

EDIT: I just started looking at it. It's not the actual videos you download from the shopping channel. It's basically this special interface with which you can access videos online and clear out the background to reveal various pictures underneath. Still, it's free, and only 70 blocks. Not a waste of time to download, IMO.

EDIT2: Yes, definately. I just watched the first trailer. Actual dialog, and I know I caught a glimpse of Ridley in there. Very much like a movie trailer. I just hope it isn't as linear as Fusion was. Still, definately got my interest. :)

I got it last night. After seeing the trailers, I think this may be the first Metroid Prime game that I play all the way through, as long as they don't through in something where I'll need to twist my wrist and Wiimote during battle, because other game where you have to do that don't read it very well.

Also, did anyone else notice how much it looks like Halo? I mean even the enemies look the same as Halo enemies.

Is the game play anything like Metroid 1 or Super metroid? I love those two games.

It's like Super Metroid with a first-person view, along with the bonus of being able to scan various computers and artifacts to read up on the history of the planet and the going-ons with the Space Pirates. Or at least, that's how it was with the first Metroid Prime. This one looks like it's going to have dialogue, so it might be like Metroid Fusion. Hopefully without the forced path feeling.

Don't worry if you suck at FPSs, the Metroid Prime games (except the DS one) allows you to lock on targets.

^ Super Metroid is not first-person. Super is just like Metroid one. Side scrolling where you can see the whole 2d character.

It doesnt look like halo, and the enemies don't look like halo enemies. those are space pirates, which were first fully introduced in Super Metroid back in the early 90's. some just wear armor now and are bigger. Metroid Prime started development in 2000, a full year before halo came out. and metroid prime is the first place the big, armored space piraters turn up.

neither one was influenced by the other.

I know what space pirates are, and all that other stuff, it just seemed similar in my eyes. I've never really liked the Prime game so I don't really know what goes on in them.

I didn't say it was.

Imagine Super Metroid as a 3D world, and you play from a first-person perspective (except ball form, with is 3rd-person). That's what Metroid Prime is like. Except it lacks the super-dash and spin jump. Which is a good thing.

I remember my biggest fear when Metroid Prime was announced was "screw attack in first-person? oh hell no".

Luckily the screw attack is third person.

One of the new videos hints at the origin of Mother Brain. View video "Aurora".
