Ever did or did not do something that later made you feel guilty?

How do you handle your guilt?

It's simple. I don't. But I don't feel guilty about many things anymore.

Usually I handle guilt by refusing to think about it.

Simple, I know I'm not perfect, I don't beat myself up over my mistakes. If I can set something right, I usually try to do that, although sometimes it's hard.

I have a guilt complex. So everything is my fault.

I recognize the difference between what I feel guilty about and what I am actually guilty of.

Then I address what I am guilty of because what I feel guilty about is usually not real.

I do something worse.

Then I don't feel guilty about the original problem at all anymore!

But I think that would make someone think that there doing a lot of wrong then. So they may still feel guilty about everything.

I try to think of something else.

Confront whoever might have been wronged. Try to make amends. Try to get as much closure on the situation as possible.

Well, uhm, back to business. ¬¬ My method is pretty much like Bo's. Works fine.

My guilt deals with ego. I think about it every now and then, and then my heart tells me to stop dwelling on that ish.

Well, what if its a guilt you need to take to your grave?

What do you mean by "need"?

I mean that.. If you don't you know your life will change for the worse.

Sharing what you feel guilty about with someone (a husband, wife, best friend) you trust can be very helpful. A trusted friend with a listening ear can be a good sounding board. Coming clean can be a very conscience-cleansing thing even if there are temporary consequences that will result (and there might very well be).

Actually, that was totally my fault.

If you are going to 'take it to the grave' then you'd best learn to get over it. Not to say that there are not things that are best untold, but there no other way to get around it, I guess.
