Thanks so much! I love it when my games get reviewed, and even moreso when they're reviewed favorably. I think it was a fair review all around, I missed some points where the game was truly lacking. For what it's worth, all of my games that have been reviewed on the Mag since Crazy Skating have gotten the gold award.... so I love this place. :rolleyes In fact, the ratings in each section were identical to the review of RAZR Burn, except the "fun" rating was a little lower. I was kind of going out on a limb with this game – and in fact I do that on all of my games – to push the limits of what a game can be. I wanted to make an extremely artistic game, with design elements that have never been seen before, and I suppose that may have gotten in the way in the overall enjoyment of that game. Also, I realize that Spheer is not for everyone. It's a certainly a challenging game, and you really have to like puzzles in order to enjoy it. One thing that dissappointed me about the game was the somewhat clunky control setup, but there was only so much to be done if I wanted to preserve the vision I had for the game. On that note, I've mentioned in the past that Spheer completely lived up to the vision I had when I first conceived of the game.

But, going back to the review, it was well written and a pleasure to read. Thank you, Perversion! :D

Also, a small note on Free Play mode. It wasn't planned for the game originally, I put it in there close to the end of the development cycle. I knew that even the earlier levels were quite difficult, and I felt it was more important for the player to at least see and experience most of the levels than to collect the Electrodes. If the player gets stuck at Level 2 and can't progress simply because they can't find an Electrode or two, the game would be failure, that's why I instituted Free Play mode.

Even though I can't play it, I can tell it's a fantastic game :D

It was a pleasure to review, jerbils, and it deserved the score it received. Oh, and I'm glad to see we are on agreement on Level 2. :)

Yeah, it is pretty hard. But again, it was all about artistic vision. In the large rectangular area (the area with the Speed Pads), I was going for an M.C. Escher thing. I think I achieved that, but I agree that it does compromise the fun factor of it. I won't say for a second that the game is perfect, as no game is, but I'm glad that people are enjoying it.

And thanks, DuelExpert!
