^ Yeah.. I understand. The problem is that if I make the stats for a good person I want to be then if I choose to be evil later then I don't get to pick new stats.

If you want to be an evil character, then start making your evil info. Just because you can't choose an alignment right now doesn't mean you can start preparing your character for the alignment.

Actually, since facts is going on a trip soon, it would be better if there was a healer other than him in the group. Kajak, you take the cleric?

*sigh*
KK, your alignment has nothing to do with your stats. You can have the exact same set of numbers on both a good and an evil character and they would be as good or as evil as any other good or evil character.

The thing is, I really didn't want evil-aligned characters around. Even more when it's chaotic evil. You know why? Because these characters betray their comrades. They stab them from behind. They take the loot only for themselves. They care not for the lives of anyone, and they wouldn't help anyone even if they begged for it.
Evil characters are, in essence, bastards.
Sure you can play a Chaotic Evil if you want to, but the thing is, will you be able to role-play it properly, without making the game less fun for the other players?
Sure no one here would like to be stabbed in the back by the group's spellcaster.

It's just that it may be fun for you, but will it be for the others?
Unless it is played really, really well, having an evil character in the group is a pain in the ass =/ First of all, he probably wouldn't even be in the group, because why would an evil character set out in a group of good people to do anything?

That's why I ask you, please, no evil characters =P I'm preferring to keep things simple for this game ^^

Sounds like a plan to me.

Name: Zhufbar Ungor

Age: 187

Race: Dwarf

Class: Cleric

Description: Umm, short, hairy, stocky....Dwarfy?

Bio: The phrase "Tough Love" describes Zhufbar to a tee. A gruff but caring individual, always willing to through out a heal when needed.

Will that work for now?

Yes, perfect.

Dray and Phoenix are left. Once they're up with a character concept, we move on. ^^

So...

DP - Human Fighter
KK - Gnome Sorcerer
Phoenix - Human Rogue
Kajak - Dwarven Cleric
myoky - Half-Elf Druid
Dray - Human Monk (I'll file it like that for now so we can move on, if you want to change, say it ^^)

And, finally, the next step:

Abilities and Alignment

First, the alignment:
You can choose any spot in the 'ethical axis': Lawful, Neutral or Chaotic.
And any spot in the 'moral axis': Good, Neutral or Evil. But not evil. For reason stated in the posts above ^^
Your Alignment is the combination of these two axises (?!). For instance: Neutral Good; Lawful Neutral; True Neutral; Lawful Good. I think the terms are pretty much self-explanatory, but if you have any question, ask or look here http://www.d20srd.org/srd/description.htm#alignment

Restrictions:

myoky - Being a Druid, you can only pick between Neutral Good, Lawful Neutral, or True Neutral (Neutral Neutral). Druids must have a Neutral particle in their alignment to reflect that they, just as Mother Nature, do not pick sides.

Dray - Being a Monk, you can only have an alignment of the Lawful axis (Lawful Good or Lawful Neutral). This is because of the Monk's spiritual and mental upbringing.

Kajak - Your alignment depends on which god you choose to worship as a Cleric. I think the best one would be Khalmyr, God of Justice, and Creator of Dwarves. He is a Lawful Neutral god, so your alignment must be one 'step' away from that at most. You can be either Lawful Neutral, Lawful Good, or True Neutral. If you don't like this god and want to change, just say. ^^

All the others can pick any alignment, except for anything Evil, at their will.
(Now you see why we had to wait for the class selection to pick alignment? These things go together =P)

Abilities

Abilites are the 'core skills' of your character: they reflect their innate abilities. Unlike most electronic RPGs, abilities will not change with levels; in fact, they barely even change during the life of a character. You really are born with them. So, pick wisely.
The abilities are:

Strength: Reflect physical power of the character. Affect melee combat attack and damage, and few skills.
Dexterity: Physical nimbleness, finesse of movements. Agility. Affects melee combat defense and various skills, as well as ranged attack precision.
Constitution: Physical fitness. How healthy your character is. Affects Hit Points (famous HP) and few skills.
Intelligence: Need any explanation? Affects spellcasting abilities (for some classes) and many skills, as well as how many skill points a character gets each level to buy skills.
Wisdom: How wise your character is, and how well he can perceive things around him. Wisdom is a mix of 'perception' and 'good-sense'. Affects spellcasting abilities (for some classes) and some skills.
Charisma: Also needs few explanation. How can the character affect others socially. Affects spellcasting abilities (for some classes) and all social skills. Warning: different from eletronic RPGs, this is quite an important ability. ;)

We'll approach this is a 'point-buy' manner. You have 32 points. Adult human average (for all abilities) is 10-11.
Ability Score - Point Cost
08 - 00
09 - 01
10 - 02
11 - 03
12 - 04
13 - 05
14 - 06
15 - 08
16 - 10
17 - 13
18 - 16
No ability can go lower than 8 or bigger than 18. These points are all for ability buying purposes, so spend them all here!

Hints for each player:

DP - For you, the most important abilities are Strength and Constitution, for obvious reasons. Dexterity is also nice to have.

KK - Your spellcasting is based on Charisma, so that's the most important ability for you. It is also nice to have good Dexterity and Constitution, so you don't get too frail.

Phoenix - Being a Rogue, you'll want lots of Intelligence: the Rogue is all about skills, and many of the Rogue's skills are based on Intelligence and it will grant you extra skill points. Other Rogue skills are based on Dexterity and Wisdom, and if you want to be socially effective, Charisma.

Kajak - Your spellcasting is based on Wisdom, so that's your most important ability. High Constitution will help you in combat, and the Cleric usually also works as the group's diplomat, so a high Charisma helps. The Cleric's effects on undead are also based on his Charisma.
After you finish using your points to buy abilities, increase your Constitution score by +2 and decrease your Charisma score by -2. Dwarves are rough and resistent, but also tend to be grumpy.

myoky - As Kajak's, your spellcasting is based on Wisdom. Take a high score in that one. Also, a good Dexterity is nice to have since the Druid does not usually wear heavy armor.

Dray - The Monk's special class features are based on Wisdom. A high Strength will help you when the time to fight comes, and a high Dexterity is advisable since the Monk isn't too fond of armor.

I think that pretty much covers it. For this step. When you're done with this, we can move on to selecting skills, and then we'll be practically over with character building.

Abilities:

Strength: 11
Dexterity: 14
Constitution: 13

-----------

Phew... done. Abilities were tough, I hope I'm not too unbalanced.

I'd tell you to balance your abilities a little more. As it stands, as soon as you enter combat, you're dead meat if you don't hide immediatly.
