(If only RPGM1 had variables)


Do complex puzzles(Like pushing buttons in the right order)require
turning switches on and off?

I know a switch puzzle isn't complex, but, you know what I mean.
(hopefully)

Yes...

It requires many pages and many switches depending on what you are trying to do.

An example would be a matching puzzle I re-created in RM1. There were 12 pictures you had to match (12 events). Each event had a number of pages. One for if it was the first tile stepped on, another for if it was the second tile stepped on and matched the first tile stepped on, another for if it was the second tile stepped on and didn't match, another for the tile to remain flipped on if it was the first tile stepped on and matched, and another for if it to remain flipped if it was the second tile stpped on an matched.

There was one switch I used if it was on, then a tile was stepped on already and would trigger the other 11 events to know that the next one stpped on was going to be the second. After it was stepped on, the switch (reguardless if it matched or not) was flipped back to off... signifying that the next tile to be stepped on was to be the first of a pair again.

Each page usually had more than one switch in the conditions... It's not too difficult if you think about it logically. Think of what you need the event to do, and think about exactly what it should trigger.

I'll need to get more memory cards.
I currently have 1.


One puzzle I attempted to make was the most common. The "Press switches in the right order" puzzle. But, I reached a dead-end when I really messed up on the pages and switches. I'll attempt it again.

That won't be too difficult. It really just depends on how many buttons you'll have to press. If it's like... 4 or so, it shouldn't really be an issue.
