... Okay, Lantis and I just now finished watching a movie that was made in 2006 called "Paprika" that was recommended to us by a friend who normally doesn't consider anime to be her cup of tea, ... and unfortunately, we took her suggestion.

Lord help us all, Paprika is THE MOST BIZARRE MOVIE EVER.
Iit poses a conundrum that goes beyond even the understanding of a typically intelligent man such as myself. I mean, when a movie easily makes most anime series look normal, that's pretty bad.

Anyone else see this?

I've seen pics. From what I've seen, It certainly looks
incredibly bizarre. I'll have to watch it if I have the time.

The best part of the film is... the theme song, of which is in the above trailer.

I suggest that you find yourself at the apex of none-sober-ness before viewing.

That trailer has just changed my perception of reality.
And indeed, it served me a huge platter of WTF!?!?!
Is the rest of the movie THIS bizarre?

... More so than you could ever imagine. You won't know whether to laugh or just stare stupidly at the screen in confusion.

Actually, the movie is more bizarre than the trailer... tbh.

So, after I see this movie. What strange and bizarre symptoms will loom over me?

the description by it sort of reminds me of 'The Cell' that was a pretty good movie.

Got my attention. I think I'll watch it.

That reminds me of various Shin Megami Tensei games, especally Devil Summoner and Noctourne.

Is it more bizarre than FLCL???

If so I'd be interested, not that they're aren't a lot of things more bizarre than FLCL, just most aren't as cool.

I own the entire series of FLCL, and yeah, it's more bizarre. I was able to keep up with it for a while. But towards the end it becomes a giant enigma of a plot. The end... kind of brought it all together, but not really to a point where I can say I followed it all to well.

But the animation, from what you guys can probably tell from the trailer, was very well done.

Maybe I'll look up a plot analysis for it, that might help clear it up a bit.

Having an [spoiler]alien as a maid who drives around on a Vespa, and hits people in the head with a bass guitar that has a pull cord on it[/spoiler] isn't bizarre? What are you people watching .

So yeah not totally bizarre but it definitely has it's moments, and I love all of them. Oh yeah and it's pretty bizarre to [spoiler]just kind of cut from anime to manga and then back again.[/spoiler]

well... been watching Excel Saga.. though i prolly woudln't pin that as bizarre either. just really awesome and funny ^__^
hmm... perfect blue? spirited away? you could sort of say spirited away was kind of bizarre.. like.. because it didn't neccessarily have a point. it just had a storyline. and quite a few strange characters.

Yeah, Spirited Away did kind of have that strange quirk to it. [spoiler]Zomg, I'm the river?![/spoiler] But it really doesn't hold much of a candle to Paprika.

iunno. personally i think paprika made way more sense and stuff than Spirited Away *shrug*

What is FLCL?

And I own the box set for Excel Saga, and I too think it goes a bit beyond bizarre. Kino's Journey is also, not really bizarre, more surreal. And to keep on topic, I will definitely be buying Paprika when it comes out on DVD.
