Just wondering if anyone here Rp's. I used to quite a lot...ran over some old stuff and it got me thinking, partially cause i remember something that looked like a rp forum when I first game here.

So, anyone rp?

You could say I RP by myself, but I make up the whole thing, there's no levels or rules or anything, no Monster Manual with cool drawings. It's not really RP anyway, just me making things up really >___> so no, I havn't, they forgot about me, and I didn't bug them until it was too late.

I'd like to, but there's nobody to roleplay with.

I used to do free form. That's where the character of Crythania came
from. Did quite a bit of it during the late 90s, and some very serious
stories with a close online friend, which we never finished. In fact, that's
where "The Rune Gem War" came from, mostly. I'd already been working
on it for a few years at the time, but it was the free form that really
helped to flesh out characters and storyline.

Eventually the free form gaming forums at AOL got overcrowded with
newbs, and I guess the whole thing collapsed in on itself. I had already
lost interest in public free form at the time, and was doing private stuff
with my friend.

I have to say, it was great practice for the character acting I did for
dialogue scenes in "Raiders Of Lekunder". It probably wouldn't have
turned out as well if I hadn't had all that free form experience.

And I've never been much of a rules person Sumi. Like Cryth, I'm much more of a friendly free former, with a little bit of direction prefered from a creator.

Yes. Tabletop RPG, I mean...

Mainly D&D 3rd Edition, but I also know quite a lot of Storyteller (both the old World of Darkness and the new one).

I was thinking the other day if it wasn't possible for us to have a Play-by-Forum (RP in forum, yay) in here. The only problem with that is that we'd have to find a Game Master and players that would be willing to come post at regular intervals and take the thing seriously.
Or not... one can always dream, huh?

Lol, actually what I was wondering if we could do was have a rp forum, perhaps a subforum within creativity. We could have user run rp's. Just come up with a storyline and post it and run it yourself. That's how it used to roll on the old utopia forums. Anyone interested?

I had the idea of Mag island. But what I wanted to do with that was very involved. It would take too long to plan.

I think we already did have a roleplaying forum here, based on Lufia. Not sure what happened to it, but best guess, either it was either not popular enough or the GM was too busy to handle it.

But yeah, I'd be up for that sort of thing, here.

The problem is, we had Ix running it.

Not that hes a bad choice. Hes very good at what he does. As much as he wants to think hes god. He can't be running RP games and trying to keep a job and go to school at the same time. So we need people who have time to run games.

A roleplaying forum just on the level of let's-pretend-we're-someone-else can actually run itself smoothly without a GM... Even something more along the lines of a real game could happen like that, if the rules are few or aren't there at all, and the players have good sense and discretion.

For a ruled game, a GM is necessary.
I also think it was kinda too strange to have a rolaplaying forum based on electronic RPGs. I mean, that's the least roleplayish of all roleplaying games!

I'm still for a decent good-ol' RPG ruled game
I could possibly manage to GM a short D&D, Storyteller, or simpler rules system adventure. All I'd need would be the players willing to play ^^
It's just an idea.

Just making sure everyone understands I'm not meaning a single rp. I want a place that is user driven, where we can have multiple rp's running at one time, all with different stories and rules, basically w/e people feel like doing.

Each individual rp would kinda be gm'd by the creator of that rp. It could be a very structured rp, or just about as free form as we get. That way we cater to all different tastes and personalities. And with it being user driven that's keeps any mod from having to both drive the rp and keep it going by the rules, which means quite a bit less work.

Sooooo, anyways, that's the idea I'm thinking of pitching soon.

KK and I are looking at various possibilities for an RP forum here (which may or may not happen). We're open for ideas, if anybody wants to throw anything out. I'll post mine later. Wanna flesh them out, first.

Actually, now we're just considering the possibility of a general RP forum where people can either create their own thread-worlds to GM or take part in other's games. Which would probably work out better than a Grande Scheme that would've been doomed to failure through complexity and stuff.

I was jsut saying I'm open to GM an adventure.
Since the number of releplayers seems quite low in here, wouldn't you agree that it wouldn't be likely for us to have more than one adventure going at the same time?
On the other hand, we can always do the simpler stuff and try to bring new people into the roleplaying world =P

Anyway, I believe a RP is an excellent idea.

Out of curiosity, are you basing that off the results of the poll? The way I figure, part of that might be because some people don't look here in the Opinion forum. I mean, I usually don't. This topic just happened to grab my attention when I was browsing around.

We been missing a role playing games for a while now. Whats an RPGmaker sight with out RP games. We should have both RPGMAKER Video and RPG on the mag it self.
