Hello. My name is Staffy, and I USED to post here on a regular basis. I created the Magpies comic strip that I'm sure you've heard about and seen other, older members, demanding. (probably in the same breath as "where the f*ck is Staffy!? I <3 Magpies and want more *sob!*, etc, etc...) Also, I'm (as of the last time I checked) the second oldest Magoian by chronological age.

To those who know me, well, now you will finaly get your answers to the burning questions that you seek.

So. When WAS the last time i loget on for any apreicable time period? (seriously, I have know idea anymore. ) Anywho, I passed my semester in College, so woot for that...um...I turned 25 on the 12. I had to work a double shift that day so I never got to log on... Went to Anime Boston agian this year. (had a MUCH better time BTW) I'm going to go to PortCon in June. PortCon is the Anime convention held here in Portland, ME. It's a small con (+/- 2k people attend annually) but it makes up for it in content. It has a more heavy emphasis on gaming than AB, but the anime is still the star. If PortCon merged with a SciFi con, well, lets just say the geeks accross the state would have simultaeous nerdgasims.
I took pictures of AB, but i'm waiting till after I go to PortCon and get pictures there before I post them all.

I'm gearing up for not only the summer rush at work, but also a class I'm taking at college. It's just a math course, but if I complete it, I wont have to take another to fuffill my requirements for my major. So there's that. My GF is graduating today, but I cant attend. I have to work.

Two weeks ago, a freind of mine from way back named Darryll dropped by and said that his fiance had kicked him out. He had apparently been pushed by her and he pushed back, but because she was like 5' and he's like 7'4" the cops got called, and well, after a stint in jail, and getting fed up with living with his mom, then finaly spending 3 days living in the passenger seat of his Camaro, he landed with us. (my parents and I) We own a 24' travel trailer, and we put him up in that while he looks for a job so he can get the f*ck out. (He's a great guy, but what he has in height he lacks in common sense, and his presence can be a bit grating after awhile. Xp)

Speaking of geting out, there is talk around the water cooler about me finaly getting a place of my own. At first I would have lived with a guy i work with, and one of the few people I call "friend" IRL, Doug Story, a "dude" of there ever was one. Immagine a cross between Jack Black, Cristopher Walken, and Clint Eastwood, and that's Doug. He's tired of his "cigarette landlord asshole" so he's decided to bail and find some place new. It's up in the air if I end up living with him or I end up with Darryll when he finaly gets on his feet, but the prospects for eather are dubious. Doug is a bonefide pothead, and a self proclamed "Professsional Drinker," and Darryl is LITERALY the biggest bullshiter I have ever met. Actualy, I think Doug and Darryll should get a place. They seem rather compatable.

Hosetly, the only person that I would want to move in with is my Girlfreind.
...or my Sister.

This is only because, as a whole, girls tend to be neater, and easier to deal with as roommates.

The problem with moving out as a whole is that it is just to expensive. I don't know what it's like where you all live, but here in Maine a 1 bedroom appartment will set you back $1300.00 a month, and if you are DAMN lucky that will include some of the utilities. For the "all inclusive" 1 bedroom, look to avearge 2-2.5 grand a month.
...and my parents wonder why I don't move out. (hello!? I like Internet and Cable, and you know, the little things, like EATING, and FURNATURE...)
Screw "not being ready," I've been ready for 6 years! But, hmmm, what ELSE has been going on FOR THE PAST 6 YEARS???

Last week the college sent me a bill that basicaly said that if i dont pay $258 they will drop my summer class. At the time, I had $300 to my name and an increasingly empty gastank. So needless to say I spent the last week completly broke. What joy.

I saw Spiderman 3 and last night my GF sprung for me to go to a sneak preveiw of Shrek 3. We are going to try to get tickets to Pirates, but I need to save my money now. thankfully, more time at work means mor income, and Brad, my boss, said I'd be getting a raise this year so, I'm hoping that soon money worries will be lessend.

I guess that's all to say...I might be getting Flash MX and Photoshop 7, which my GF *ahem* "liberated" from the College Media center.

I also got this plush ? block from AB that makes the coin noise when you hit the bottom. If you hit it 10 times it makes the 1up sound. Yeah, it's pretty awesome.

at least if you moved out with your girlfriend in a 1bedroom you would be able to share the bedroom fine and split the rent.. either way halfs on that is what a full 2 bedroom apartment here might be.. but in canadian dollars so even less than that really! though it's more like that pricing in Vancouver than out here o.O

Now, you can get a 1 room aprtment for 3 bills around here, but you know, I'm not big on sharing a bathroom with people I'm not familiar with. And I like my OWN kitchen.

Ummm....yeah.

My computer....shat the bed...big time. The hard drive overheated and fried windows, but thankfuly all my other data was salvage with nary a scratch. sadly though my net work card lost all it's drivers in the crash, so I'm talking to you from my GF's laptop. Long story short, I got a new 160Gig hard drive (old one was 40gig) and windows xp Pro. I still have to RE-install all my shiznit, so I'm going to have to sign off for the time being. hopefully all this will be cleard up in a few (if not by next) weeks. caio.

Much pat. I hate when that happens. It's getting pretty hot weather too so it's harder to keep it cool. I think the only reason mine hasn't overheated yet is because it's old and the processer is only 300mhz. not going fast enough to cause too much heat? (sort of a guess.) it's usually just fine as long as I have the side of though. *Shrug* guess i'm lucky.

Well, I gave it back to my GF's Dad, (who is an UBER techie, more on this later...) and he got the wireless drivers back on the thing so now it works. yay. I still need to make the rounds and do re instaliations up the wazzoo, but for the time being I have the ability to go online and such back on here.

(I mentioned that my GF's dad was an uber techie; she told me that he knew BILL Effing GATES way back when, and talked with him regularly!
....Yes, WAY. Aparently, My GF's dad was in the New York chapter of the Home Brew Computer Club, back in the day. )

Ahh...But what has the Ole Staffarino been up to whilst his compy has been sick you might ask? Well, in short, PURE AWESOME!

First, I picked up some old SNES games at my local we-carry-everything-software-related-also record store, BullMoose Music! Originaly,I had only F-Zero and DK Country 2. But the stack I found was Sah-WEET! I found Mario Kart and TLoZ: ALttP, but that's not the best sh*t. There was also copies of Super mario All-Stars, Super Mario RPG, AND f*cking FINAL FANTASY 2(US)!!!
I've also been collecting Old NES games as well and gotten quite the collection. In addition to some of the more mundane stuff, (I.E. All 3 SMB's Dr.Mario, Tetris, Yoshi's Cookie, Duck Hunt) I got some drool inducing games like Dragon Warrior, Crystalis, Legacy Of the Wizard, The Guardian Legend, A Gold Copy Of The Legend of Zelda 1, and I JUST picked up Star Tropics.

I helped a friend move last week and inreturn for this assitance he sold me all his old game systems and some games. so now i have an N64, an extra NES, and a Sega Genesis. (I also got his SNES, but I already have a System that plays SNES games, so I gave it to my GF.) So in addition to the games mentioned above, I also have Street Fighter 2, Same, but Turbo version, Disney's Aladin, NHL 96, Streets of Rage 2, Shadow Run, Double Dragon I&II, Pro Wrestling, Super C, Cyber Stadium Series Base Wars, TMNT: the Arcade Game, and WrestleMania. There was also a SNES Game Genie in with that stuff.

But I think that the piece du resistance was a game I also just got today.
one LUFIA & The Castle Of Doom! So yeah, now that I got my computer back I'm all :hyper .

In other news, We (as in my family and I) got a new kitten! It's teh cuteness. ^_^ It's currently tearing around our house like a 4 year old that just got into an industral size case of pixie stix. Which makes it even cuter! (OMG! must...HUG...BABYCAT!!! soooo cute! *hug*)

Yeah, my one techie-esque good friend who is 26 wants to drive 2 hours to get me and then go to this one flea market in Pennsylvania since this one guy just finds old gaming items and sells SNES games pretty cheap. His one friend found Chrono Trigger there cheap. I almost cried.XD

That and apparently there's some kind of non-official console that costs $45 and plays NES and SNES games I believe? Which would be good since I can't find my SNES for some reason.

Welcome back though once again, and I can understand why moving out would be so hard when anymore people have to live longer with their parents since the prices of everything keep rising.

Yeah, It's called the FC Twin. It's the one I got! The NES emulation is kinda choppy, but it plays SNES titles flawlessly.
