you may never get around to doing all the games you want to do? I find myself coming up with new game ideas, but realize how long it's taking me to just complete one. There are at least 4-5 games that I would like to do, but sadly I probably never will. Just wondering if any of you feel the same.

Yes, but I would say that you shouldn't rule out doing them and by the time you make your second or third, you'll no longer think you fourth and fifth ideas are all that good.

I fear I'll never get to two is the main thing, as it's taking me so long to finish my first. I'd be too afraid to start another game do to the amount of time it takes to make one.

Quality over quantity, my friend.

Doesn't help if those games you want to get to are quality.

Assuming that, on adverage, we are around 20-25 years of age... I'm pretty sure we will all eventually have the time to make everything we wanted. I mean, Rodak is 40 and is still using RM... and to me, I would thing some 20 odd years would be plenty of time to do what you want.

I mean, your life my be busy right now... but there will eventually be some down time. There always is. In fact, a few months ago SK was actually doubting he was a gamer due to the lack of games he played. He is a full time college student and does quite a few things outside of school. But that has changed since. He's out of school now and he's got games out the arse.

Anyway, that's my take on it.

My current plans are to finish "Tales Of Valasia", then finish the sequel to
that. With that accomplished, the PNG Trilogy will be complete. Then,
maybe I'll pursue some ideas I had while I was working on "Raiders Of
Lekunder" last year. All of this is gonna take some time (months, years).
I'm 38. I'll probably still be working on stuff when I'm 40.

If all else fails, I was thinking of hiring myself out as a field map designer
for RPG Maker 3. That's what I seem to enjoy the most. I could do what
I do best for other peoples' projects. If there's someone who would
rather focus on his story but still wants gorgeous geography to explore
along the way, that would be a good match for me.

You know what gets me too..

Ever feel like that you used up all your good ideas for the first game you made? Now theres nothing good left for your other games?

I see what you mean Lantis, but at the same time, I'm not sure if I'll ever do it even if I have the time. The game I'm working on, and the games I have thought up are heavy on the dialouge. Writing just isn't really my thing, I'm forcing mysef to do it though, to finish my game.

When I bought rpgm 3 and a keyboard, I basically said "I will do this game, no matter what" and that's what I'm doing. When I think of making another game which involves me to write that much, and when writing just isn't something I'm passionate about, I don't know if I'll ever get around to it. I guess that's being lazy, I can't just expect my ideas to jump right out of my head without doing the work, but I sure wish they would.

I guess your right though, if I really want to make any more games, the time will be there at some point. It's just a matter of motivating myself to do it.

I also think part of the fun of RPGM is thinking of games to make without actually making them. It is a good basis as such.

I just wish for a custom sound/music maker to use with my games. Make some really good stuff then.

But back on topic: either way you must push forward. Whether you continue or not is up to you. Try to continue making progress, and you'll get somewhere.
