John's Adventures: The Beginning

Prologue

It was yet another beautiful summer day on Edmund Street. The trees were rustling as the wind blew through the trees' leaves. The birds were chirping. Hi! My name is John X. I was busy writing poems, while my brothers (Jackson, Jeffery, and Adam) and my sister (Kayla) were wrestling outside the backyard, using our custom-made wrestling ring. Kayla was the referee and asked me if I wanted to join in on their wrestling match. "No thank you," I said. I just watched them beat the hell out of each other, while Kayla refereed the Triple Threat match. By the time I was done with my poem, the match was over. "Should've been in it, John," Kayla said. My brothers nodded in agreement. "Is any of you guys up for another wrestling match?" I asked. "I am," Adam said. I nodded. "Okay, then. Let's do this," I said. I put my wrestling gear and headed out through the back doorway.

As soon as I entered the ring, the bell rang and the match between Adam and I was on. Kayla was the referee of the match. I started the match by pushing Adam into one of the turnbuckles. Adam then knocked me out with a strong right punch on my forehead. As I fell, I noticed that Adam was removing the protective covering off the turnbuckle. He then picked me up and slammed my head onto the exposed turnbuckle. I was then beginning to bleed from my forehead. I put my hand on my forehead and saw the blood on my hand from my forehead. I then began to go nuts. I charged toward Adam and speared him on the spot. I then pinned him and got a three count. I was then taken to the nearest hospital, where I received twelve stitches on my forehead. We then returned home in Tacony, on Edmund Street. Our mother (Mary) got upset with us and told never to wrestle, again, out in the backyard. But our father (Robert) told our mother that they were just playing. But our mother showed our father my forehead (which had the stitches on it). Our father told our mother that it was all Adam's doing (you know, how Adam got me cut open by using the exposed turnbuckle). Our mother then punished Adam for what he did and Adam mumbled under his breath this, "I'll kill my brother, John, for what he did to me." And that's how my rivalry with Adam started. Did you know that my family's last name is X? Not that it matters, I think. Unknown to me, I was being watched by some people from an unknown source of outer space.

No. This never really happened in real life. Anyways, here's chapter 1 of my story. Enjoy:

Chapter 1: Destiny

In case you forgot, my name is John X and I am currently eighteen years old. I am currently writing poems, as usual, when all the sudden, the mail came. I ran to the front door, picked up the mail, and shouted, "Mom! Dad! Jackson! Jeffery! Adam! Kayla! Mail's here!" Everyone quickly ran to the kitchen table, eagerly waiting for the mail to be passed. Jackson, Jeffery, Adam, Kayla, and I got a letter and to our surprise, we got the same thing: an application for a chance to join a group called, "Galaxy Police." "What's Galaxy Police?" Kayla asked me. "Don't know Probably a kind of wrestling organization that we can join," I said. Father then said, "Okay, kids. This is your big chance to prove yourselves worthy of being a wrestler." Kayla, Jackson, Jeffery, and Adam agreed and began to fill out their application form. I didn't. I knew that something was up. I was on my to take a nap when mother said to me, "Where are you going? Aren't you going to fill out your form?" "Maybe later," I said and walked up the stairs and into my bedroom. I began to think about my life and the ups and downs I had in my life. They were worth it. But still, I decide to wait until I truly decided. I then decided to fill out the form and took a nap afterwards.

As I woke up, I looked around and realized that I wasn't in my house, but a spaceship. I found my brothers and my sister sleeping around me. I quickly woke them up. "Come on, John. Let us sleep some more," Kayla said. Everyone nodded. Before I could explain, a man entered the room and gave me a device that looked like an earring. "Sorry, but I'm not aloud to wear earrings," I said. It was true. My brothers, my sister, and I weren't aloud to wear earrings because our mother said so. Even at the age of eighteen, she wouldn't allow it. The man said then said something that I didn't understand and did a full nelson on me, while he was trying to put the earring on me. I tried my best to break free. But it was too late. The earring was on my left ear. "I told you not to break free. I see you're from Earth, just like me. They don't allow earthlings into the Galaxy Police. But Lady Seto said that you five are juraians. How is that possible?" the man asked as he put the same device on my brothers' and my sister's left ear. "You speak English?" I asked. The man simply laughed and said, "It's the translator I put on your left ear. You'll be able to understand every language more clearly than before. You understand all this, right?" I simply nodded. "Good. Time for name introduction. My name is Seina Yamada and I'm the captain of this ship, the Kamidake II. I see that you're a wrestler. How good are you?" Seina asked. "Well, I'm still training, you know. I train day and night, ever day. I train with my three brothers and my sister. As for your question, I'm alright," I said. Seina was shocked at what I said. "You train everyday? WOW! I'm impressed. You completely shocked me. Anyways, let your brothers and your sister rest in here. I need to show you something, " Seina said.

As we were walking, I stopped and noticed a small cat-rabbit like creature in a glass cylinder chamber. "That's Fuku, a cabbit. She is a core component of this spaceship," Seina said. Confused, I simply followed Seina into a room. "This is where you'll be sleeping. Tomorrow, I'll be showing you the training room we set up for you. Lady Seto wants to see you your brothers, and your sister tomorrow. She wants to test your abilities in the ring," Seina said. "Who is this 'Lady Seto' you keep referring to?" I asked. "You'll see. Now get some rest. You'll need it," Seina said and left my room. I decided to do hat he said and went to bed. I woke up at a huge rumble. It looked like the spaceship was under attack. I went to the bridge and spotted a long, red haired woman. I approached her and asked her, "What's going on here?" "We're being attacked by space pirates. Go back to your room," she said. I was about to, but I turned around and asked her, "Where are my brothers and my sister, and who are you?" "If you need you need to know, your brothers and your sister are being held hostage on the space pirate ship, and my name is Karen. Got it? Good. Now go back to your room. Your brothers and your sister are in safe hands now," Karen said. I couldn't believe it. I was being left out. I trained my body twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. I endured pain. I took it like it was my friend. Hell, I even tilted a car and a truck over. But orders were orders. So, I went to sleep. I soon woke up, again. This time, I felt another rumble. I quickly ran towards the bridge and to my surprise, it was totally empty, except for Fuku, who was hiding from the space pirates. I quickly ran towards her and asked, "Where's Karen?" Fuku pointed at a ship on a monitor. "Is that the space pirates' ship, Fuku?" I asked her. She nodded. "Can you get me inside their ship?" I asked her. She nodded and jumped onto a platform. Within minutes, the ship was moving. "WOW!" I said. "This must be the power of a cabbit." As soon as we got in, I gathered some equipment and left the ship. There were a lot of space pirates, but I took them out one by one. I saw one of the space pirate guards holding some keys. I quickly took them, took a map of the whole space pirate ship, and left for the prison cells, beating up any space pirates that were in my way.

As soon as I got to the prison cells, I ran into a heavily armored guard. "That all you got? Hmph!" I said. I ran up to him, removed all of his armor, and executed a sleeperslam on him. Taking his armor off didn't take long. It only took me five minutes to remove all of his armor. I unlocked all of the prisoners and got back into the ship. "John, I don't believe it. You risked your entire life just to save us? That shows that you got guts. I only wish Lady Seto saw you in action," Seina said. "I seriously doubt it," I said. "Why?" Seina asked. "Because I just do. Now let's get out of here. I'm getting tired," I said. I was I was so tired; I need someone to hold me up. As soon as I got to my bed, I fell on it and went to sleep.

More is on the way. And yes, Chapter 2 will just as long as Chapter 1.

Heh, not bad. If anything, it's nice to find another Tenchi fan around here. Keep up the good work. ^_^

Oh,and if it's companionship you seek among fellow writers, may I suggest taking a gander at SK's (Sarah's Knight) work. Also, Kajak's studio has some good stuff as story is all he has for his RPG at the moment. And I'm sure you'd get to like Staffy's work too. As far as poems go, NLY and Alto (Altoecko) are top notch.

Ah, I knew I've heard of cabbits before

i actually really enjoyed that line ^^

iunno why, i have a freakish sense of humour.

i think you write pretty well, and you've got a lot of imagination, which is absolutely the most vital tool an author needs. i kinda noticed that your actual use of language is like... essentially flawless. *shrug* another vital trait in a writer, and it makes you easier to read to boot.

^_^ i have to say that i enjoy the way that so far, each part of the story has begun with you writing poems. That's a nice touch.

keep writing, keep posting, i'm pretty sure people will keep reading.

Chapter 2: The Test

As I woke up, Seina told me that we were on the planet Jurai. I didn’t know what kind of planet Jurai would be, but I was about to find out. Just then, a blonde haired woman came into my room and said, “You must be John X. I’m Amane Kaunaq-Yamada and I do hope that you’ll become a big help like you did before.â€

We were almost there. I noticed that Adam was silent. I know that he’s always silent, but right now, he seemed different. I approached him and said, “Hey! Are you okay?â€
