RPGM2 Disc read problem

My copy of RPGM2 used to be just fine but now it won't read. I know it is a blue disc, but as I said it used to work fine.

Is my PS2 getting old, or is it the disc.

Also is there a way to fix it or place it better in the tray?

DRE.... the most common problem with PS2s.

Best thing to do is pop it open and clean the lens. It's always worked for me, and I've done it many a time.

Though, you will need a pretty tiny screwdriver to do so.

My older PS2 ran games like that just fine for a while, but it just wore off. I wound up getting it repaired by Sony the first time. Then it went and started getting DREs for the other type of disks (silver-backed, DVD videos, etc) and I just went with buying a new one.

I also heard that if you put tape on the disk (I guess to weigh it more) it helps. Have you ever heard/tried this?

I tried it, but it didn't help me any. It works for some people, but it's not guarenteed.
