From Valk:

"We've had three contests since the big move in '05, and it seems the one people had the most fun with was the Absolute Garbage contest. Everyone who entered had a ton of fun with that. but the turnout was a bit limited due to it only being for RPG Maker 3, which was pretty damn new at the time. So we're bringing it back with far fewer restrictions. So say hello to Absolute Garbage: The Second.

For this contest, you may use RPG Maker 1, 2, or 3. You simply have to make a bad game, and have a lot of fun doing it. if you want the game to be so badly programmed that it's unplayable, thats fine. If you want a perfectly playable game that's just as stupid as you can make it, thats fine too. If you just want to make the biggest disaster to ever appear on an RPG Maker, go for it.

Each person can enter up to three games, as long as none of them are a game already on this site.

You have until July 4th to make your masterpieces.

Submissions will be handled via PM so no one can see the other people's entries. Full details of this method will be listed in the contest forum later today.

Playstation 3 entries are allowed, and when the contest ends they will be converted into dex drive or max drive files for everyone to download.

If you have any questions, ask in this topic until the contest forum is ready."

For more, head on over to the RPG Maker Pavilion (yes, we promise it's safe :p)

Thats right, no XP. I refuse to support it. Not a big fan of Enterbrain's business practices surrounding it's release.

We'll host any legal RPG Maker XP creations people want us to, but we're never going to include it in any of our promotions.

Pavilion's contest Forum has been updated for this. submission details are clarified as well:

Submissions will be handled via PM/e-mail, so entrants cannot see each other's games. When your game is done, PM me at the pavilion to get the e-mail address to send it to. I'd post it publicly, but I don't want spam-bots flooding the inbox.

I do have a question.. If the game is bad. And we all know its bad. Then why would someone want to play it?

Because it being a bad game is an irresistable gimmick.

It doesn't have to be bad. It can be a really messed up concept with good game mechanics.

Which is what I am doing.

One man's junk is another's treasure.

Over at GameFAQs I reviewed a few so-called "bad" games that I
genuinely liked. The majority of reviewers gave 'em low scores. I and
perhaps one other person gave 'em favorable scores. Of course, these
are commercial products that probably weren't intended to be bad. Then
there were a few games that everyone else seemed to love, and I didn't
think much of 'em.

You'll be surprised how much fun making a crappy game is, Kittykicker.

More than anything else it's probably Valk's way of getting us all back into RPGM, since there haven't been too many new releases lately. I know I've been spending a lot more time with RPGM lately.

My goal is to try to top Fatal Insanity in terms of absolute wretchedness.

Considering the almost 450 views that Fatal Insanity has, and most of the other games have 200-400 views (I think I just made FI look too much like a goold game :p ), apparently people really like games that are utter garbage.

I proves that download counts don't mean much, since I'm sure most of the people couldn't even make it through the first chapter without shutting it off.
