Nowadays in schools, no matter who started it, both people get the punishment.

How f*cking fair is this? Back in my day, I was a great student and never started sh*t with anyone. So my teachers knew that if I happened to be in a fight, that I didn't start anything.

But now? What gives?

i think it's something to do with objectivity, like 'you were both involved so you are both responsible'.. which honestly for some people isn't fair at all. objectivity is one of those things that can be taken a little to far i suppose.

So the bullied should just lie on the ground while the bully pummels them into submission? NO!

Yeah, if someone starts something and the other one continues, then it's considered as both wanted to do shiz, and thus, guilty.

I also think excuses like "he started it!" stopped working since grade 4. People just ignore it. If there are two people involved in a fight, then both are involved and period.

But, if there's no fight involved... then it's really weird to punish the one who got bullied.

I think the parents should question why their kid (who was being bullied) should be punished and then directly question the administrators what the kid should have done differently.

there's a simple solution. If you're being bullied and you fight back, be sure to kick their ass. That way, though you both get in trouble, I doubt they'd want to take you on again.

Haha ^ Generally I have to agree with KA. But in the instance that you are unable to defend yourself...and just plain get the shiz beat out of you...then and you still get punished then honestly I'd address the administration and file a complaint. Cause that's retarded.

I can so much relate to this topic.

Let me tell you all....

I was this overactive hyper thyroid child. I wanted to take my shoes off in class. I had my butt draged to school kicking and scraming because I thought my folks wanted me to go to school to get rid of me. I did not understand at the age of 5. Why I needed to go to school. I did everything I could to get kicked out of school so I could stay home.

When I got to about 8 or 9 I wanted to make friends. Some Kid dared me to eat grass on the play grown. I thought I would be cool if I did. I thought I would be part of a club or something. Well.. Turned out that these kids just wanted to spread roomers. And it worked. Those smart little brats. I had every kid on the play grown walk up to me and ask.. Do you eat worms too? How about rocks? How about doggie poo? I had no idea what just happend. I thought.. Grass = lettus. So it was not a bad dare. I had a teacher say to me.. You know.. People do walk there dogs here at night. They do pee on that. I was like.. O.O umm.. I was not thinking about that.

Anyways.. Those roomers followed me through out Jr. high and high school. People NEEDED someone to pick on. So they picked on me.

Because of my young hyper years.. I was put into a special Ed classes.
For those of you who don't know much about special Ed. I will give you a quick lession on it.
There are 3 kinds of special ed classes. PD, LD, AND ED.
PD- Physically Disabled
LD- Learning Disabled
ED- Emotionally Disturbed
Yes these titles sound really bad. But everyone is case by case. From mild to very bad. And thats your class for the whole day. When the bell rings for different classes. You don't go anyware. That is all your classes in one.

I started off in an ED class. OMG. It was like being in a class room full of inmates. A fight would brake out in class every day. Even the teachers went home with black eyes. I was very afrade in that class. The roomers did not help me either.
In this class all you do is sit. Watch TV, read about 2 pages out of a book. Talk about whatever. And thats it. 7 hours of bullshiz.

When the teacher saw that I was not going to kill anyone. They thought it was best to stick me in LD. And thats the right thing to do. Because I was now sooo far behind on learning I now need to catch up.

Well with all the bullys in my school.. That was just not happening. I was always in the nurses offices with marks, cuts, bruses, taking bubble gum out of my hair using peanut butter. (They say that the oil in the peanuts help loosin gum)


I would get beat up in the hallways. I would have rocks and snow balls being winged at me on the way to and from school. In shop class I had people throwing chairs at me. And tools being jabbed into me. I got stabed with a needle once. Many times got stabed with pens. Just because it felt good to these messed up people.
And some how... Some way.. The teachers think that " I must have done something to piss someone off for them to do this." Forgetting the fact.. Stabbing and throwing chairs is not normal. I can't help it if I have a face that someone wants to kick. But for what ever reason I was just as much falt as the other person.

I had this one chick reach over the bathroom stall and was pulling my hair. I did not know what to do. Well.. I know what I did do. But this is a family sight. So I will just say. It was something gross that got her to leave in a panic.

I got to know my school Dean's very well. I say Dean's because I tried going to other schools. It seems that a lot of people know eachother where I lived. And my folks did not have the money to put me in a privet school.

I had my locker set on fire and got mugged everyday by this drug ho, who needed her next fix. Other wise she show me her left fist.
Yeah my school had a drug problem. I seen someones locker open and a bag of powder in a zip lock bag came falling out. With another bag that looked like crushed paesley.. Who knows maybe it was for home ec class.
I have also seen a gun that someone had. But siad nothing. I did not want to be on his hit list. I think it was to protect his weed.

I use to try making my self sick so I did not have to go to school. I lied and told my mom... My tummy hurts. Most of the time it was the truth. With all the anxiety I had about going to school I really did have tummy pain.

I gave my self pink eye. I asked a doctor where does pink eye come from? He said "pink eye is Bacteria that gets into your eye." I was like cool. So I cut up a cucumber and let it sit open in my fridge for a few days. Then I rubbed it on my eyes. YES! I have it. No school for a week!

Back on the tummy thing.. My mom made me go back to school. I DONT CARE IF YOUR TUMMY HURTS GO!!! So I took about 5 Extra strength tylenol and sent my sad ass to school. Well, the 5 tylenol made me very drunk like. I was asked to read. The words where like blurry and I was giggly and sleepy. I got sent to the nurse. The nurse asked me. And I told her.. My mom made me go to school. My tummy hurt. 2 stinking tylenol was not going to help me. So I took a few more. Well.. She thought I wanted to kill my self. Oddly enough if that was the truth I would have the bullys have there way with me. Good news came out of it. Well for me anyways.. YEY! NO SCHOOL! I was not aloud back to school with out proof from a doctor that I was not going to take my life. My mother was like.. If you don't tell the doctor the truth. If not, I'm going to kill you. Forget them pills you took. I will kill ya! So.. in 3 short weeks I was back to school.

Then I saw a shining light from god. He gave me the power of eternal sickness that will save the rest of my pice of sh*t life. At age 14 I got mono. I spent a month home from school barffing and eating olives to help ease my strep throat. The doctor warned my folks to stay away from me because they can catch it. For the next 2 years after I spent sleeping in my classes. I started cutting class to sleep on the floor in the bathrooms. Until I got yelled at. But I kept doing it. Because I was soo freaking tired. Tords the end of 11th grade.. I dropped out of school. I thought maybe if I can hold a part time job things will be better for me.

Turns out.. Me and my mom where not the best of friends. But thats another story.

Also one of the bullys turned into my best friend. Yes.. When the teacher stepped away from the class for a min or two everyone desites to throw me a beat party. A guy named Peter was one of them. One day I get this phone call. Hi, I got your number. I think your nice. I want to meet with you. I asked how did you get this number? He got really quiet and said that he stole it off the teachers desk. And that he truely does like me.

My mom was worried. Shes like your not going to meet some strange person like that. I said, well maybe if I can see who it is in a public place I can report who it is to the school. My mom said ok but I will go with you. Well, I met up with him. He said that he was sorry for the way he treats me. That its a thing that all his friends put him up to doing. And that he really does have a crush on me. I did not really trust what he was saying to me. He asked if he could give me a hug. With that I let him know that my mother came to make sure I was not going to die. He said well, if your mom don't mind.. I'm not going to hurt you...

I took his hug and found that, thats all it was. I told him that I needed to go but I will talk to him more on the phone. Before I knew it we where riding our bikes together and going to the movies. I really did not have the same feelings tords him that he had for me and I told him. I said, I'm sorry I don't have a crush on you. But I would like it if we can still do things together. He said ok. He started hooking me up with friends that he knew so I can date other people. Being no one I knew wanted to date me. And now it seems that I hooked him up with a girl that he might be marrying. He plans on moving here to PA to be with her. Strange stuff yes. He came here to the mag once. I wish he had more time for this place. I should catch back up with him.

... Of course they didn't. If you were referring to Miss Kittykicker's unfortunate situation, then there's no doubt in my mind that she can tell you that the administration never took care of the people that kept messing with her. It's like that in just about every school. Those in authority - teachers, the principle, whoever - were always too scared of the students to do anything to them when they would see those students blatantly making another's life a living hell at school. ... But, of course, for the ones who are being victimized, the staff is always quick to punish them the second they catch them fighting back against their assailants, because the staff knows that it doesn't have anything to be scared of from the little guy, and they can still make a show of being in charge that way.

That's why I was so glad when I finally made it through that tangled mess you call high school and became a college student. At college, everyone knows how to mind their own business and not bother with you about anything, even if you do give the appearance of an easy target for hazing.
