First off, I updated Usuru's wiki page:

The game covers about 9 of the original 36 chapters of the Ultimate Story.

So, if you didn't want to read the wiki, I'll tell you here. Usuru: Ultimate Story is planned to be released and submitted to the submission forum on May 12th, which is the next Saturday. In that time I have a few playtesters and other people helping with the project, so it shouldn't be much later than that.

Secondly, I thought I'd tell you about all the extras you'll get with the game.

Now, when I purchase a game, I usually expect a good instruction book and the game at minimum. I really get excitied when you are given more with your purchase, be it a map, artwork, or even a thank you note. The extras go a long way to make a good impression.

And Usuru, with it's long history back in Fall '04, gave me a lot to hand out. So, let's go over what you'll get when you download the game May 12th.

Warning: You may explode at the sight of such overwhelming extras.

The game: Complete, debugged and totally awesome. Comes with two memory saves (So yes, it is a two card game)

A Readme text. This won't be some skimpy little paragraph either, expect lots of info and lots of reading material.

The entire map of the world. This was drawn by the original creator and will help you better understand what you're doing and where you're going.

And I bet most games would stop at that. However, Usuru goes one step further with even more things!

Concept artwork from the original creators. Yessir, see how every weapon looks like, drawn up by the creators themselves.

Production notes from the game. See a bonus map of the town in the game, drawn by the game creator.

The Chapters. Here is a special little bonus, outlining every chapter and the person responsible for making it.

And, finally, 8) Exclusive commentary! Listen as two of the three creators explain everything currently made about the Ultimate Story. Character bios, plot twists, and every chapter made!

Warning: It covers everything including events past Usuru. So be advised there are major spoilers in these extras.


If that doesn't give any game a run for it's money, I don't know what will. So, get ready for the biggest game of the year this 12th of May. The adventure starts....

Another feature I forgot to mention is the no-password game. In other words, there's no password protection to my game, so you're free to see how it was made. There are even areas that can't be accessed otherwise, and reveal a lot after the ending.
