Antagonists: This is a small listing of the main antagonists as well as short descriptions.

Caine, Mullen, Alek, Shiba, Matlock, Abaddon, The Missing Link, Janai, Kontis, Silt, Rig

Caine: Caine, the blood-letter, was one of the thirty humans who used the power of the ancients to become immortal deities. He is an immortal of awesome power with an insatiable bloodlust. His war with humanity raged for thousands of years and covered the Earth in an ocean of blood. However, his near defeat led him to flee from Earth to the peaceful planet Trice. There he resumed his battle against humanity with greater allies and more numerous enemies.

Caine is an elegant murderer, a charismatic killer, with the grace of an angel, and the cunning and cruelty of a devil. His frequent statements concerning honor and the brief flashbacks that usually accompany them give the impression that he was some form of leader of men before the Dispersion.

Caine is meticulous, unrelenting, and damn near unstoppable. As blood god, he holds great power over all creatures, basically citing that since blood is the fuel of the body and he controls the blood that he, therefore, controls the body. Along with the powers over blood he has access to the great energy created by the immortals during the ritual of ascension. This power is manifested in great control over the elements, as well as summoning and transportation techniques, as is seen when he originally breaks out of God’s barrier.

Caine is not a necessarily evil person. It is the power of the ancient’s magic that has twisted his being. He is elegant, polite, considerate, and charismatic. However, the urge of blood that flows through his veins leads him, unwilling at times, on a continuous quest for bloodshed.

Mullen: Not much is known about Mullen other than the fact that he is Caine’s right hand man. He is frequently seen carrying out Caine’s orders and leading assaults against Kajak and the crew. Although these attacks usually fail, it is clear that Mullen never actually tries to defeat the group. In fact, he makes several statements alluding to the thought that his orders are actually to toy with the party.

Mullen fights with a short sword with amazing speed and strength. In fact, on several occasions he takes the party on with no difficulty. Why he follows Caine is unknown. And a greater question than that might be why he was seen by Caine’s side before Caine broke the barrier.

Alek: Alek Shade was the assassin that originally wounded Caine before God intervened. How he is still alive and why he is with Caine remains a mystery. What isn’t a mystery is the man’s incredible aura of power. He is after all, the man that wounded a god. He makes a statement the first time the party encounters Caine that leaves little doubt that he could easily finish off the heroes without breaking a sweat.

Shiba: Shiba is a spider queen that is apparently working with Caine. Her appearance is much like that of a centaur, the torso and up being human and the rest being an incredibly large spider.

Shiba has a vicious streak a mile long. She’s haunted so many places, and there are so many tales of a giant lurking spider throughout the history of Trice that it is really hard to determine just how old Shiba is.

The party first catches sight of her in the ruins beneath the city of Ladrin, where the party first meets Graft. In fact, it was Shiba who webbed Graft to the wall. Apparently she had been using his regenerative abilities to continuously feed off of him, so that she could lay low. Why she was in hiding and what mission she is carrying out for Caine remains a mystery.

Matlock: Matlock Sinna is Irving’s younger brother. He was driven mad by an incident in which his father murdered his mother and then attempted to murder him and his brother. After this, Matlock was raised by Irving. The two founded a band of gunners (Guns are considered lost technology. There are few well made ones in existence and the few engineers that can reproduce them can only do so in small quantity and low quality. Also most replicas fire one shot at a time and those that fire more are often inaccurate and volatile.)

This band of Gunners was much like Robin Hood’s band of merry men. However, a few years ago, Matlock’s small hold on sanity snapped after an incident between a woman and Irving. Matlock seized control of the Gunners and executed (unsuccessfully) Irving.

Matlock and his band now travel the countryside and are considered dangerous fugitives. Matlock especially is considered an extreme threat because of his volatile nature and extreme skill handling a gun.

Abaddon: Abaddon is one of the thirty immortals and claims the title of God of the Fallen. While he is not directly in league with Caine, he is still a great threat to the world; a threat that the party must take care of in order to succeed against Caine.

Abaddon is responsible for several attacks of demons on the northern half of the continent. He is also in league with the Wyvern riders against the Dragon flights.

As Abaddon puts it, he is merely a harmless bystander who is protecting his land. He even offers to fight against Caine, citing a demon army he once loaned out that Caine never saw fit to pay back.

Abaddon fills his respective place of power like a glove. As God of the Fallen he has the grace and beauty of an angel, with all the ferocity and charm of a devil.

The Missing Link The Missing Link is a Yeti that inhabits Nertha's Peak. Standing at a massive 15.7 feet (4.7 meters), The Missing Link is an imposing figure. His thick fur makes him almost impenetrable, and his magical prowess over cold matter is strong enough to snuff out all but the most furious flames. His children, all yetis of formidable size, though not quite as fearsome as their father, roam the pass of Citeoph, making trade on the isle of Grans a difficult endeavor at best.

It is not known if anything besides pure bestial instincts rule The Missing Link and his children. But travelers that have survived their assault report unsettling occurrences. Occurrences of Yeti attack it battle formations, and of slaughter, and all the while a cruel knowing gleam within the beasts eyes.

Archaeologists from the cities of Lyphirea and Rouge claim that ancient ruins lay atop Nertha, hidden deep within Citeoph's pass. What the ruins might contain, or even if they exist, remain a mystery. Another mystery is the growing adventurism of the Yeti's, who have been sited in the cold foothills just west of Lyphirea.

Janai:
Janai is the leader of the Ravens, a group of former Phoenix Children that were corrupted by Caine's bloodlust when he crash landed on Trice. Janai has a bitter hatred for Phoenix. He feels the immortality bestowed upon the Children is more a curse rather then a gift. As the bloodlust has driven him further and further into a dementia over the years Janai has resolved to free the Children of their supposed curse.

Ravens go through the same process of rebirth as the Children do with the exception of their very first birth into a raven. Ravens are engulfed by a black flame and their wings are made of pitch colored feathers. Wingspan grows with each rebirth. As such, Janai, having been reborn over three thousand years has a nearly forty foot wingspan, with wings strong enough to easily knock opponents aside.

Janai uses a unique combination of two crescent moons as well as arming the tips of his feathers with metal barbs. On land Janai remains mostly stationary due to the size of his wings. This does not make him an easy target however as his wings give him an easy twenty foot reach. In air Janai is a force to be reckoned with. His wings give him power, speed, and mobility not to mention an intimidating presence.

Kontis:
Kontis is the leader of the true Dark Elves (elves converted by Caine's bloodlust). He has a fanatical hatred for the High Council and views the citizens of Ville De'Lumiere as sheep. It was presumed he was killed during the civil war between the High and Dark elves, but his name is starting to be whispered in dark alleys.

No-one is sure if Kontis is still alive or if it's propaganda from the High Council or the rebels. One thing is for certain, if Kontis is alive it going to be a dark time for the Ville and its citizens.

Silt:

Silt, Lord of Arms, is another of the thirty Dieties created just before the Dispersion. As his title suggests, Silt is a master of armed combat and has reportedly, never lost a duel. This could be because the suite of plate armor that is infused over his body radiates a magic dampening aura, and since magic is Silt's only known weakness, fighting him is complicating at best.

Rig:
Rig is one of the thiry dieties and claims the title of God of Undeath. Rig, for all his abilities of doom and gloom, and raising rotting corpses, is actually quite refined in appearances. His abode (refered to as the Pit) is tidy to the point of OCD.

However, after such a time being surrounded by the undead, Rig's psyche seems to have cracked. He jokes constantly and when he's bored makes his minions perform hilarious (to him) antics.

Rig himself is not an incredibly formidable foe. While not a weakling, he is definitely not on par with combat abilities of other gods, such as Abaddon. However, Rig's complete controll over the undead literally means most oppenents will never have the option of fighting him. Rig's powers extend to the point that merely walking past a graveyard will raise all the corpses as servant for him.

Rig is currently at war with the Dark Council, over the control of a magical layline running through the continent.

From the power that all these guys have... makes you wonder how every day ppl can eventually take them out.

lol, such is the trend of RPGs.

Everday people can't take them out ;) That's why you need the party of heros. Oh and don't worry, there are reasons, and at times, secrets, as to why the party can eventually take them down. This isn't one of those, "Oh my random level ups have given me more ability than you so now I'll defeat you ultimate boss!"

But then again I can't say much more than that. Wouldn't want to spoil it for ya ;)

Two knew antagonists have been added. I hope to add some more tonight.

In writing up Matlock's small profile I realized that I'll need to be able to explain things like the guns in a place of there own. However, until I accrue more such things I'll wait to start a thread for them.

... The antagonists here sound like one seriously evil bunch. I will take great pleasure in dueling with them to the death.

Yet another enemy has made the line up. And more dark and sinister figures wait just over the horizon. :P

Man, I'm a sucker for stories. As much as I'm never going to play any RPGM game made by someone else, this is one great antagonist cast.
Hmm, I remember now, someone mentioned once you were a story writer, right?

And another thing... The Missing Link is quite a creative name for a yeti. I loved it ^^

Why thank you. I rather liked the name myself :P And yes I'm somewhat of a writer, or at least a storyteller. Btw, should have either new antagonists or protagonists up sometime today.
