Defense of the Ancients is an AOS style custom map on Warfcraft 3 frozen throne. It's been around for quite a while, and passed through a few hands, before becoming what it is today.

When WoW hit I saw many dota boys flock to it. I actually lost a few old friends in the migration. However, I opted to not lose myself in WoW, and though instead play a little of both.

I've noticed a downhill trend in the popularity of WoW. At least in my area anyways. And then all of a sudden, I started seeing familiar faces in a few of my dota channels. As the weeks have gone by more and more old faces have come back to dota, and what's more, they're bringing new friends.

The level of competition, the addictive nature, the constant updates, and the countless strategys try in to create a package that for me seems timeless.

Does anyone here play?

Honestly, it's a good game. One personal reason is that there are no levels. So you can't sell your soul to it and keep telling youself "If only I was just a few levels higher" and stuff... Also, it puts everyone in the same level of difficulty.
