EDIT: Decided to turn this into a poll.

Spider-Man 3 all the way. I've been a Spider-Man fan since the 90s (although you could probably tell that already :)), and I LOVE the films. I'm also super-excited to see Venom VS Spidey!

Pirates 3, not so much. I liked the first Pirates, but the second one was too long and too boring. I ain't expecting much from this one.

Meh, I'm looking forward to both. But I haven't been pleased by the look of venom in SM3.

I am quite pleased with the return of Geoffry Rush in PotC though, so I believe I'm looking forward to PotC a bit more.

I've been a SpiderMan fan since I was a boy. I remember the original movies that came out. Those were classics. Spiderman 3 all the way!!

I cant believe what i'm hearing!! Pirates of the Carabbean ROCKS! I'm not downing Spider-Man, (as that rocks equaly)
but the lack lustre responce to one of the most enjoyable movies of the last 10 years is SHOCKING.

Once again, people are over looking an oscar worthy performance, just because what? The movie doesn't take its self "seriously?" It isn't "historicaly accurate?" It's a swashbucking fantasy, and a damn good one at that! The writting is spot on and the cast has PERFECT chemestry.

I'll see them BOTH.

As long as Sam Rammi can keep Spider-Man from becomming the "villan of the month" that Batman became, we can expect a quality movie going expiriance for years to come. A darring cross over with the Fantastic Four/X-men would also be a good move, but only if written by Stan Lee himself. If I remember correctly, Spider-man originaly saw the X-men as a threat, and was quite predudiced against mutants. He came arround, but in the mean time (say 2 hours and 15 minutes) it could make for some compelling drama as well as high octane action.

I don't think anyone would put down the first Pirates movie, and I don't think anyone in this topic has.

I like the first Pirates movie, but I just couldn't get into the second one.

Wait, Staffy, are you talking about the Pirates series as a whole, the first one, or the second one? Because you've kind of confused me. :(

This is wrong... Did I accidentaly voted for Spiderman, or am I actually the first one to vote for PotC? :(
I really liked the second movie. Some people ask me "But you had to like the first one even more!" but I can't really say.
I also enjoyed Spiderman... but I think pirates are cooler than spiders :D

I got your back Guar.

I mean, I'll end up watching both just like everyone else here. But what can I say? I like pirates.

yeah *raises hand* all about the pirates.

personally I didn't like the spiderman movies much at all. really really cheesy. >_<

but the potc movies are hilarious, and the second one just builds on the comedy of the first one! little things like
Jack says "hide the rum" when Elizabeth comes on the boat
that you wouldn't get unless you saw the first one.

Wasn't it as long as the first Pirates?

Anyway, while I might wind up seeing both, I'm more likely to see Pirates 3 (so it's called "At World's End"? The world must be flat in the movie.), because I'm still iffed at how they suddenly changed Uncle Ben's killer for Spider-Man 3. I haven't heard of anything in Pirates 3 that I can be iffed about.

Pirates 1 run time: 143 minutes
Pirates 2 run time: 150 minutes.

Huh. I was so sure number 2 was longer...

Anyway, I think that Sandman isn't really Uncle Ben's killer. I think it's just something to give Spidey the anger to go after Sandman. Sam Raimi is a huge fan of the 60s and 70s Spider-Man comics, and with Uncle Ben's killer being the most important part of the origin story, it would be stupid to change it.

Don't the cops tell Peter (non-costumed) about the "real killer", though? I doubt they know that Peter is Spider-Man.
Although there was that train incident in Spider-Man 2 (my favorite scene in the movie).
