I love reading. I haven't read anything in a while, until I decided to continue The Wheel of Time's 2nd book. I get this urge sometimes of finishing a book as quickly as possible... can't wait to finish it up ^^ I think it's because I know there's 9 more books after that :o

I also bought Eragon, since I wanted to know how was the movie butched :lol But I havent touched it.

I'm also waiting for Harry Potter's 7th book and the next book of A song of Ice and Fire (Great Series. My favorite)

As you might have noticed, I like fantasy books a lot...

No clue... however, I have started to read Eragon. And without seeing the film as well. I heard one too many of those "Man, the book was SOOO much better" lines, so I guess I would save me the pain of a bad flick and just pick up the book.

I love the WoT series....I'd definetly recommend it.

The Song of Ice and Fire series is honestly one of the best around. Feast of Crows was simply amazing!

Just got ahold of Kushiel's Scion which is the next series after the Kushiel Legacy. At least that's how they word it. Haven't had a chance to start it..but I'm really looking forward to it.

Ok. I just finished Fallen Dragon and it is officially my favorite book. Usually when I finish a book I think how the ending could have been better, but I have nothing on the ending of Fallen Dragon so I won't even try.

Now back to DramaCon (I only have 1&2 -gotta get 3!!)

You never know if they actually translate the really good brasilian authors, but I guess it's worth a try to point it out.

Btw, a hint: NEVER EVER read Paulo Coelho. It's hellish famous and translated to hundreds of tongues, but it's BAD and pretensious. Stay away from that one.

Hmm, now for the good ones.

Sérgio Porto. Wrote during the military dictature in Brasil (1964 - 1984) under the pseudonym Stanislaw Ponte Preta. His books were mainly about the stupidity of the people, being the better ones a trilogy called "Febeapá", short for "Festival de Besteira que Assola o País", in english something like "Festival of bullsh*t that Raids the Country".

João Saldanha. Brasilian football ('soccer' for australians) coach in 1969. Football critic and chronicle writer. All-time communist. Seriously. If you don't like football, read this guy and you'll start loving it the next second.

Jorge Amado. Wrote during the 50's. Really really good stuff. Look for "Capitães da Areia", in english "Captains of the Sand". But they might have changed the title after translating.

Aluísio Azevedo. Naturalist. Best book: "O Cortiço", wrote (or was it passed?) in 1888. There's not a proper anglish word for the title. It means a specific place where a bunch of really small habitations are packed up together for the pooerer members of society. Closest to it would be the today ghettos or slums, but things were a little different back in the 19th century.

Meh, just pointing a few out that I think are among the best writers of all time.

I read it. One of the only books I've ever read in german, but I've got the original english one. Though I never opened it, because someone told me "reading Oscar Wilde in the original is suicide!". ^^

Excellent book though.

"More quotable than Yoda, I am."
— Oscar Wilde on himself

^:lol I'll never forget that.

Has anyone actually read through the Eragon series? I heard from some ppl that the first book was the lesser of the... however many there are (2/3?). But from others, said that the first was the only one worth reading... kind of like the Matrix movies. Watch the first, but save yourself from uncontrollable hara-kiring due to the 2nd and 3rd.

Alfred Bester - The Stars my Destination (aka Tiger Tiger).

Science fiction? This is the one to look for. Best main character of a book I've ever read. He's the anti-hero all anti-heroes should look up to.

Last night my gf handed my a book, 100 Reasons I Love You. I guess I'm a softie but that was really nice. I said thank you and she said open it. When I did I saw she had taken the time to write on every page how each 'reason' applied to us.
I love that girl!
