Lantis was talking to me about Chrono Break.

To slow down the spam I moved it here. :)

I think what I liked most about Chrono trigger was
the frog.

And the idea you can warp through time. Yeah come to think
of it the guy who waits at the end of time.. I think hes Awesome.
Very misterious.

Reminds me of Zelda 3 that I love best warping
from a light Hyrule to a Dark one.

I really do hope they come out with Chrono Break.

I don't know what it is.. But when ever I hear the frog theme song.. The sound of the flute brings a tear to my eye. :)

You will be waiting a long time. They scrapped the idea a while ago. I for one, was really looking forward to another sequel too. :cry

I almost finished that game, once. I was in the middle of doing everyone's subquests that the guy at the end of time hinted at. I had only one character's subquest left, but I couldn't make enough sense of the guy's hint and never found out where to go. I wound up losing interest for another game and never got back to it. Wish I could remember who's quest it was, maybe one of you could tell me what it was I was supposed to do. I know I
took Robo to that place back in time so he could rebuild a forest, which resulted in me being able to save Luca's mom after a reset due to the LARA code not translating well onto a PS1 controller.
But that's the only one I remember doing.

I think i remembered that i got far into the game when,
the main character died and we had to revived him or something
but it was such a long time ago that i probably don't remember to much.

I definately remember going through the doll scenario. Which happened to follow one of the coolest cutscenes I've ever seen given to an SNES game, if only because I was playing the PS1 version which had the scene animated.

Speaking of which, it was just a bit distracting how at times you were given an animated scene, and then the scene replayed in its original form.

lol @ ps1 version
I completely refused to play it, and still do.

<3 the SNES version. I've beaten the game every way possible, seen every ending, done everything there is to do.. on more than one occasion. It was my pride as a gamer. >_>

Yaaaaay.

I considered trying to get the SNES version. But then I realized that I would've missed seeing some of the awesome (if a little choppy) anime cutscenes interspersed throughout. I'm used to the load times anyway.

I have it on all three platforms... and either way it doesn't bother me. It's a great game that minor problems porting it over to PS can't hinder.

But yeah... all the "can't wait" talk of Break really needs to be put into perspective. And that would be to realize that Square Enix IS NOT PLANNING ON MAKING CHRONO BREAK. There is a possiblility they will make it, but it's a very small one.

But I've been tracking it since 2001... If I hear anything, I'll let you know.

I've played the SNES version. Approximately eight times. At least. And I didn't even try to get all the endings, I just did the one with the last sidequest over and over again. Considering I haven't even finished half of the RPG's I've played, that makes Chrono Trigger clucking awesome.

I've also played the PS version, but waiting five seconds every time I hit the menu button pissed me off a lot.

^ You are my hero.

BTW, I found something interesting...

If you have a TI-83 you can play this. I don't, I sold mine after I got out of college. =(

But these are some serious fanboys.

Also... some "screenshots" of Chrono Break. lol

Yeah, I remember that. Reminds me of the time that Final Fantasy 7 was announced for the GBA.

Bump.

For those of you who didn't know, there was a totally fan-made remake for Chrono Trigger. But Sqenix forced them to stop once they saw how good it was getting. Anyway, here's the only proof left that it even exsists.

<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/6GbJ8WU-nLI"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/6GbJ8WU-nLI" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

Here's some screenies. Some are of the video, but a few are just shots of areas in the game. I, for one, quite like the Zenan Bridge pics.

As far as Chrono Break.. no news. Probably won't be for a very long time. Possibly there might never be any news. T_T

Too bad Square-Enix didn't actually just secretly aquire the rights to the project in order to eventually one day release a full remake themselves. It's been too long for that to be the case.

I think the Chrono in that video looks rather bad. O.o
But for the rest, looks awesome. Specially the London sleeping guy and Magus.
Would have been a great game, though.

Btw, I was just about to comment how Magus looked like an Akira Toriyama character, but then I remembered it just in time ^^

@ Gnasher - lmfao... that WAS a close one. ^^

This is what I wonder over anything else: How far into production did they actually get? And is there some way to get a copy of the unfinished work?

I'm guessing 'not as far as you think' and 'no' ... but oh well, one can dream, eh?
