Well, I've had FF6 Advanced for a few days now. And I'm here to tell you what I think of it compared to the SNES game. (I'll try not to put in any spoilers.)

As a lot of you know, this version of the game was supposed to have a lot of translation fixes... And it did, but not always does a new translation make a game better.

A few of these bad fixes are:

Atma Weapon (Sword) was changed to Ultima Weapon, which I don't like as much.

Atma (Boss) was also changed to Ultima Weapon.

another version of the boss Atma that you fight was changed to Ultima Buster which is just plain stupid.

Also, Kefka's famous line: "Son of a submariner!" is no longer in this game, instead it was changed to "Son of a sandworm" which i think sounds worse.

Well, if anyone else has bought this, tell us all what you think of it.

How scenes did the censor?

Sorry I meant, "How many scenes did they censor?"

Was it really that undistinguishable? Oh and by the way, It's Final Fantasy VI Advance, not Advanced.

I think most scenes are the same.

One thing that I liked and didn't like was how they changed the opera scene.

Draco, Celes and the other person that sings all have new voices that sound really good. They sound more realistic than the SNES game.

But the part I didn't like was the fact that they changed some of Celes' lines.

Son of a sandworm? Fwa??? There's no comedic value in a line like that.

They managed to do it better than the SNES? I remember finding the opera scene quite amazing in the original... you could almost hear the singing voices.

I haven't played the Advance version before, I'm not playing it now, and I have no plans to play it in the future.

I already have it for the SNES. It's perfect the way it is, regardless of how many new things are in the remake.

Besides, Square-Enix clucking stole the P off of Phunbaba! How insane is that!?

actually, the stole the p and changed the n... It's Humbaba which was the Japanese name for him...

But why they changed that and not other things like Ultros to Orthos (sp?) when Ultros' name was changed in other games.
