Ah, the big DMC2 debate.

As I see it... it wasn't a bad game at all. Granted, it wasn't near as good as DMC1 or DMC3, but as a game? Not bad at all. It's still the only DMC that when you play Dante Must Die (or Lucia Must Die) The bosses can also activate Devil Trigger. And Argosax the Chaos on DMD was a b*tch.

And now for your viewing pleasure: naruto AMV to DMC3

And here is one of the most kick ass gameplay videos I've ever seen. My hat is off to this guy for pulling of such brilliant combos. Oh, and a good song too.

Indeed a debate as long as time itself.... for me I refuse to consider it a part of the series. It doesn't really add much to the story or gameplay. I had no idea what was going on until the end. So all that was really accomplished was, the introduction of Lucia (which I enjoyed) and the gate opened to hell. More importantly, what ever happened to Trish? Wasn't she Dante's partner?

Indeed, DMC2 totally blew as far as story was concerned. But Trish was, in fact, an optional character in DMC2. And while the story sucked, the gameplay was pretty stinkin good... and the boss fights were interesting. And Dante(Lucia) Must Die mode... challenging.

Personally, I think that Capcom let so many plot holes in DMC2 on purpose. Here's why: Devil May Cry 2 is chronologically the most recent to happen. As long as they don't fill in the gaps at that point, they can continue making the games none stop. Kind of like resident evil and wondering if this is the game in which Umbrella Corp finally goes under (with disreguard to RE4 which just nonchalantly said the Umbrella was gone. I was like, "WTF?")

But that's my guess anyway...

That is about a good enough guess as any.

I was kind of sad that Trish was nowhere to be found in the.... I guess you could call it a story. And yeah, they definitely had some interesting bosses. A demon that was pretty much a building. Now that is pretty original.

Yeah, as far as story development, DMC2 just plain flat out sucked. And I can only guess if they will ever go further in chronological story than that... I hope so.

Why do i feel like we are the only DMC fans around here? -_-

Anyway, DMC 2 sicked cause the difficulty was toned down a bit. The amulets are only worth using when you have to solve a puzzle or something near to that. Boss battles weren't too difficult except for the final one. And playing as Lucia won't help the game as well. Sure it adds variety but you kinda feel like you're replaying the game all over gain.

The other fans must me hiding in the bushes or something. :)

Yeah, playing as Lucia is pretty much playing the game over again. Other than a few trivial things you find out about her. I did actually enjoy playing as her, though. More than with Dante in the game.

The one good thing I can think of, about the lack of plot, is for when there is a DMC5. They can make up about anything and not have to worry about having any plot holes.

Yeah... it's called "job security".

Anyway, I'm DMC'ed out till 4 comes out... I lost all of my DMD data for Vergil last night.

I'll post any data I find about 4 as I run across it.

Well if you don't know this, I do have a sliver of good news for you. Even if you saved over your Vergil data, the modes and different forms you unlocked are still there. It makes going through it a bit easier. Expecially if you unlocked Super Nelo Angelo, going through most of the modes again should be a breeze (I don't remember which mode you have to beat to get him, so I'm not sure if you would have him yet or not.) Maybe try beating Bloody Palace to get a nice amount of blood orbs. Though, that would take an ungodly amount of time.

*has flashbacks of beating Bloody Palace* :o

I do have Nelo, but I don't have super. So no help there.

I did, howerever beat the first level on DMD with Vergil with the beginning stats... like 3 devil star icons and almost no health. But I seriously doubt I'm going for completion any time soon.

Anyway. I was looking for the magna because I couldn't find the .pdf files anywhere. The cheapest I could find was like $20 for all three.

Heh, I coudl only hope so.

I hold FF7 as one of the best games of all time, reguardless of genre.

Anyway, playing with Nelo Angelo... I can't help but think that Nelo's Stinger and Nero's Stinger are one in the same.

(first Vergil fight w/ Nelo Angelo)
<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/n8x_V8if4-g"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/n8x_V8if4-g" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

::edit::

Upon further review... nvm. Nelo's Stinger isn't even Stinger, it's Yamato's Rapid Slash. But it bing a broadsword, it just doesn't look the same. I should have known this as Nelo's moves are pretty much the same as the moves he had in DMC1. Nurr.... However, he does have Helm Breaker, Bee Killer, Meteor, and Magma Drive which are from Alastor and Ifrit... which have nothing to do with DMC3 Yamato.

The DMC1 Yamato you get wtih Legendary Dark Knight Sparda mode is pretty much a mix between Alastor and the Sparda sword.

Wee, new sig.

I used:

and a screenshot w/ the two brothers about to shoot Arkham.

I also printscreened the DMC4 website before the menu's loaded up to get the DMC4 logo. I edited out the 4 though.

But that's not the true nature of this dreaded doublepost.

I was looking for some DMC stuff... Found the Devil May Cry DVD - The Trinity of Fades and the Devil May Cry Graphics File. So far, I can't find them locally. I think they are worth a look into.

Did some research.

http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-lt- ... -1ktm.html

That's the only place I can find that you can buy both the Devil May Cry Film DVD - The Trinity of Fades. Also, if you look at the bottom of the page you can see the Devil May Cry Graphic File too.

And now, some more stuff to hold you over till 4 gets here:

Awesome Linkin Park DMC4 vid.
<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/uwMbUIwIHVE"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/uwMbUIwIHVE" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

By the way... I've got a good question.

The order of DMC's story line as mentioned by it's creators is DMC 3, 1, 4, then 2. If Dante get's the Force Edge at the end of 3, and uses it until he gest Alastor in 1, why is it that in 4 he uses Rebellion from 3 (as you can see from the vids)?

Assuming that the sword was reunited with the amulets and became the Sparda sword and that Trish had the sword as an optional character in DMC2... I can only guess that Dante just kind of gave it to her and went back to Rebellion.

I think it would make better sense for him to go back to Alastor... but seeing as DMC4 should have a plethora of new weapons, I guess the creators just wanted to be nostalgic... or something.

That is a pretty good question. I have a few theories on that one. Though, it does greatly ressemble Rebellion the sword also looks a bit different. I don't remember the Rebellion being so long. It is possible that it could be a different weapon. Pretty unlikely, though.

Another one I have is that the rebellion grew in size and strength. Remember how in DMC3, that the weapon transformed when his devil's power awakened? It could have grown stronger along with Dante.

My last theory is over confidence. He didn't think that they would be too tricky to take down so he uses his old weapon.
