Zip/Unzip me.....Best one?

Basically, I neeed a program to zip/unzip files so I can compress them, uncompress my rpgmaker files. Perferably free.

The trial version won't end. It'll ask you to pay for it every time you use it once the trial ends, but you'll still be able to use it.

Bump. I still don't have a zip/unzip setup, and I refuse to use winzip. They are NOT free and I will not spam a trial version.

Winrar...

supports everything winzip does, and more. The evaluaion copy is nothing diffrent than the full copy. Except they 'suggest' you pay them.

As for finding a absolutely free copression software program, I think you are out of luck.

i use winrar.

it asks me to pay, but i just laugh at its impudence. it doesn't stop working if you don't pay.

just install it would be my advice, it works fine ^_^

gzip? bzip? Linux? BSD?

All free. Just not sure if there are windows versions of those, and two of them are whole Operating systems. And on second though those only work with themselves and tar files (except the operating systems).

Maybe Ice has really his moral values or something, and it pains him to use something that's supposed to be an evaluation copy for longer than it's evaluation period. Who knows. I could have sworn you had to eventually pay for WinRAR though or it stopped working. WinZip I know you never did. Of course zip sucks as far as archiving goes. RAR, gzip and the others are much better at compression.

i've had winRAR 5 months past it's trial expiry date. it works fine.

For great compression software winrar, gca, and 7zip would be the main ones to go with. But if you're looking for something with all of those features and its completely free use Tugzip.
