heh, Sumi puts on her HoF face...

Yes ma'am.

Actually, I prefer cats myself. Simply because they are alot more laid back than dogs. It seems all most dog want to do is just freaking spaz 24/7 (this is a definate with smaller ones). Cats, on the other hand, have no problem curling up in your lap whilst you enjoy a nice RPG while next to a heater munching on some hastely prepared snack from the kictchen.

A dog in said scenario would have either jumped in your lap knocking your contoller to the abyss under the bed, eaten whatever you may have prepared, and soiled your floor amist the commotion.

Plus, you can't find any of those funny cat pics in dog format.

Obviously you have not met my roommate's cat, who will randomly tear down the hallway at various times of the day, and is just as happy to try to bite you as to try to let you pet her. Not to mention when she was a little younger she tried to poke me in the eye while I was sleeping. So calm and laid back are pretty much the antithesis of this cat. I've always found dogs to be much more calm and loyal. They will play when you want to, and let you pet them when you want to. Usually no guessing game as to which mood their in, where as cats change their demeanor almost constantly. Also if you're not smart enough to get them declawed, good luck with owning furniture (same with puppies yes, but normally not with a trained dog). Plus dogs are easier to train.

And proving my point the cat is spazing out as I write this, she'll just randomly jump if you even look her way. So yeah once I get a house and a fenced backyard, I'll be getting a dog.

As for your last sentence, it's because dogs don't spaz out as much, and get into every crevice they can fit in.

Touche....

But I'd have to say we are both right. There are cats who are monsters... and dogs who just need to be force fed hydrocodones. I guess it's more personal opinions than anything. And mine is that I think cats rule...

I had a turtle once... I straddled him on the highway. I felt compation for him and picked him up. For the bravery of challenging the highway dispite his size and speed, he was named Dante. I kept him for a pretty long time... then I let him go. For what reason, I dunno. I think he wanted out anyway... so who was I to say he had to stay. Meh... oh well.

Can birds be potty-trained? I wouldn't mind a cockatiel if I weren't worried it might decide to take a dump whilst sitting on my shoulder or my very comfy couch.

Anyway, I like both dogs and cats. I specifically want a ferret. I'll just need to learn how to take care of them, and make sure I make the wire-filled back of my entertainment center off-limits in some way.

Dray... I had a ferret once. They aren't really that good of pets.

1) They stink... badly. Even after a fresh bath it only takes a day or two before they start to smell again

2) They don't like being pet. They never cuddle... they only play. And most they time, they don't really care to be handled. Most the time you hold them, they are struggling to get away to go find something shiny.

3) The will look, and find, anything and everything you don't want them to get into.

4) You can't potty train a ferret. It just doesn't work. If you get on to one about doing something wrong, it thinks you are just playing rough.

At least, that's MHO.

While I've kinda been interesting in this cheetah-looking fish that I could never find info on (I saw one at a fish-focused restaurant with fish tank window seats), having a fish doesn't really sound all that interesting since all you can do with them is look at them and feed them.

and you have to clean their tank every second day or else they'll die and it stinks and it's pretty grody. unless you have one of those really fancy self cleaning tanks with bubbles and all that junk.. o.O

My friend once had some fish, just in a plastic tank with water. And they had been alive for quite a while, so it's not like they were dying from having no bubbles or something. But she kept them at my house for a weekend.. three days.. and by day 2 the tank was really gross and the fish were swimming around at the top to breathe but i coudn't change the water cus you had to put this special stuff in the tap water else the fish would die or something... but she got back and they were fine, still swimming around at the top and we went to her house for a while then came back to get them and they were floating... >____>

Conclusion: Fish die easy. Fish are meant to be free.

That's my opinion of horses. Red necks will say they like to be ridden, which isn't the case. No horse like being straped down by a saddle and have metal bar in it's mouth that some guy yanks to force him to turn. They also can like being forced to stay fenced in... reguardless of how many acres you own... naturally they'd travel MILES a day... screw your stupid acres.

Technically you could say that ANY animal is meant to be free since naturally they all started out free. Just some animals have been so drastically domesticated they prolly wouldn't survive out in the wild anymore.

Probably if you took fish from a fish store and released them into their natural habitat they woudln't survive for too long. Though you never really know. Instincts and all.
