I haven't played the demo since the first time when stuff was happening that wasn't supposed to. Is it fixed now?

Yep, it's the first post on page 5.

Originally, the first demo happens chronologically after the second that was submitted for the 3.3 issue of the Mag. But thinking of going back and correcting the problem and putting a demo out that was a good ways into the game didn't seem like as good of an idea to me as it once did.

Maybe I'll go back some day and fix the first demo. But for now Demo V2.0 is just the beginning of the game. The crash of the trailer has been fixed (as in, you cant' access it at all...until the full games release).

Since the game is divided into chapters, putting out the whole first chapter seemed to be the best way to go (which isn't quite 15 blocks).

I put up a Wiki spot for SoE.

http://www.rpgmmag.com/wiki/index.php?t ... f_everyone

Nothing grand... but it's all I can really do towards furthering SoE till I get back to Magnolia.

After reading about the planet Elvenia, I noticed that it''s alot like the planet in Star Ocean. Where the people on the planet are not as technologicly advanced as earth, but can use magic instead.

Yeah, pretty much...

Kind of like the diffrence to the two world in Fullmetal Alchemist as well... or Chrono Cross... or whatever else that I care not to think about right now because I'm too lazy too try to think of any more.

But you will be spending time in both Earth and Elvenia, once the game is released.

New walkthrough update...

I'm now making ASCII art pictures for all the dungeons in the game.

It will end up looking like the <a href="http://www.sdrevolution.bravehost.com/chrono%20trigger.txt" target="_blank">Chrono Trigger walkthrough</a> I made a ways back... only in a better format.

I wish I could do ASCII art... I'm so jealous.

Is the offline website coming out with the game?

Indeed.

And that's the only place you will be able to access it. I was thinking of putting it up on a web site I have (TTC got me thinking about it). But I think it's best saved for people who actually plan on playing the game.

::edit::

I've just noticed something. When we work on SoE... we skip around on various scenarios. Whenever we save, it seems the total hours gets saved as the oldest save. So our hours change freqently. It says we have no more than around 400 hours... but we know for a fact we've put in ALOT more than that. I mean, I think the first page of this thread we were on 300 something hours... so yeah, that ticks me off. </rant>

I just realized that SK is doing text for a period after a dungeon that I haven't programmed yet. Which means I can get to work again! Yay!

I already know what I'm going to do too: This will be a mine that tunnels under a body of water. So I will have a room that's flooded, and you have to find buttons or whatnot to drain the water out of those room.

Think is, there are no events that look anything like water. I know a way around that though...mehehe

*keeps to himself*

You mean having two rooms that look alike, except one doesn't have water?

All it takes is events with two diffrent move location pages which are triggered by switches. Meh... oh well.

I was intending to do the same thing in one of my games.

The only problem with that is, the dungeon will take up twice as much system data that way. Something, of which, I am trying to avoid. I really want to fit the whole game without using the mutli-system data trick. Which isn't easy to explain to people.... I want to keep things simple.

I know what you mean. It's quite an inconvenience if one is forced to turn off their game, instert the new system data card, turn on the game, and load RPGM and the game back. Using sample maps help, but not for the really big games.

On the plus side, having to use that trick means you'd get the opportunity to swap out unused graphics for newer ones.

This is true... though we aren't using all the models we want, it's not worth it at the incovieniance of the player. We have most of everything made in system (enemies/items/spells/characters/skills/and all that other jazz) We just haven't put them to use yet. And we are sitting right at 8 blocks. So if I can finish the game (Dungeons/towns/any extra of the above) with 7 blocks, I think I'll be in the clear.

::edit::

Just remembered something. I was also planning on leaving one block open on the system card for game saves. Scenario cards change all the time, so leaving one open in the system card is about the only option...

So yeah, about 6 blocks left for system.

Well, we've finally came to a conclusion on the name change of which we spoke of on Page 5.

Seeing as we have made SoE before and this is a remake. We will sub title the game accordingly. The title we unanamously picked out was one of many canidates. All current creators of this game agreed that this would be best for the future series (God willing, mind you).

The new sub title for this game is Arc Arath.

The name is dirived from the Elvenian language. Arc - Meaning unbroken or complete... and Arath - meaning amity or love.

This is in refrence to the Goddess of Elvenia, Serena... of which you will hear alot about throughout the entire game.

Also, the offline website will get quite the make over. Hearing how some of you are looking forward to what it looks like has pushed me to put up at least some screen shots of the site. This way no content will be spilled besides what I display. So look forward to that as well.

Eh? You think so?

(Just so that it is understood, "arath" is a completely made-up term from the Elvenian language for "love".)

Yeah, I do. Especially if you say it all:

"The Secret of Everyone: Arc Arath"

I likes it.

Thanks Ix. As a fellow RM'er, I really appriciate your input.

Me and SK are planning to keep the SoE series going as long as possible. Granted - the next one may be after RM5 is out... but any game that follows the storyline of our original game or Arc Arath will have the SoE tag to go with it.
