Yeah, I know it's not the best topic evar... But I'm actually curious what most users like to set their monitors to.

Aslo, I'm working on a little web page and depending on the replies I get here... I'll format the contents of the frames diffrently.

Anyway...

1280 by 1024 pixels

same 1280 x 1024 ... that's the highest i can get it *cry* my last monitor was a bit bigger .. *sigh*

my monitor at school is like... 1024 x 768 or whatever though... it's hell.. so small.

You know, before I have my current job, I worked as a computer tech for the Computer Doctor (you may remember, Sumi).

As a rule of thumb, whenever I work on computers (be it reformats or whatnot) I always gank up the resoultion to it's highest. I've had all too many people not like how small the icons look and PREFER 800 by 600...

...and then I'd cry myself to sleep those nights.

yeah... sometimes i seriously wonder about those people... but i can sort of understand.. my mom is 51 and loosing her eyesight so she has the BIG mouse scheme on her computer. but at least her resolution is 1024x768 which isn't so bad.

what is most baffling is that there are rumors of people who still use 640x480 roflrofl

1600 x 1200 but if you want to make sure a webpage is viewable by the most people, 1024x768 is a good resolution to shoot for. Then just make sure it can expand a bit to fit other resolutions. Also not everyone has their browser full screen all the time.

1024x768 I'm sad after what Sumi said about this resolution. I think it's fine.

@ TTC - I think I'll shoot for 1280 x 1024 as it seems to be what most people use here. With acceptions of few... *shoots look at Facts*

Ah, vid cards... guess I could have mentioned that too.

Umm video cards should not matter for a webpage as last I checked webpages do not use anything like DirectX or OpenGL which actually require decent graphic cards.

But if it's just because Nvidia GeForce FX5600 128MB in this one, FX5200 256MB in my other desktop and 1600x1200 resolution on that as well.

I guess I shoul also mention that I use a very old fashion Laptop. It's not even wireless!
