[quote]Blake Ross is nervous. It’s a muggy May day in New York City, and the 20-year-old has to rent a tux for a big soiree where he’ll be hobnobbing with celebrities at one of his first‑ever black-tie events—a dinner for Time magazine’s 100 most influential people of the year. And he’s not very practiced with bow ties. “I never made it to my prom,â€

Kind of sounds like.. to have a Parakey site, you have to know something about programming. But then again I didn't actually read the entire article. I will later. I promise. I'll probably download the thing and try it out to see what it's all about. (I Meant When It Comes Out, Duh Lantis V)

Thing is that personally I don't really WANT a place for everything all in one etc etc, I kind of like the internet a bit complicated just the way it is. Different site for different things, beacause all sites are different so you can choose what you like best *shrug*

I also don't really like firefox.... <____< *cough* but that's just a total bias based on prettymuch nothing.

Does sound fun... But I don't think I like the idea of all my eggs in the same basket. But, on the cotnrary... Parakey is suppose to be end-user friendly. It's suppose to make everything easy in the fact that you won't need to use 5 diffrent places/applications to post pics or vids. Not that it really bothers me the way things are.

And Parakey is still under production. If you find a copy, I'll be impressed. But even after it's out, I don't think I'll use it all too soon... cause I'm not much of a firefox fan myself... (Opera FTW).

I've done a little research on th Parakey.

And the more I find about it, the more it seems like a computer with training wheels. It's still not due out for a while, but it's not something I'll be holding my breath for.

Well, he seems to be gearing it for the grossly computer illiterate.

As for the hacker thing, It sounds pretty secure. The way people get stuff on to your computer is through viruses that then send info back to malicious people. If you have ultimate control over what actualy pops up on your site, and there realy are no "files" to speak of, I cant see how a hacker could track down one particualr element out of the ocean of elements. Besides, this sounds like it is merely acting as a middle ground; half existing off line and half online with retreavable data accross that plane. If this plane only allows you to place things you want on it, it would also only allow things off of it that you deem acceptable. Inesseance its like an antispyware program and firewall all rolled into one. If you want to watch that porno, well, no need to worry about contamination your hardrive with nasty malware, just play it localy on the Parakey program, and when your done lock it away so no one sees it. It doesnt even come NEAR your hard drive. It's just another peace of data in the context of the larger program.

Personaly, i don't know what all your problems are wth Firefox. I'm sure Opera roxxors and what not, but I'm now using Firefox and I can honestly say, I have never felt more comfortable surfing online. I havent had a serious virus attack in WEEKS. and spyware!? HA! DENIED! :D

This I find equally humourus.

That is like saying "cowpies" are actual "pies."
